^^ I can be with 10 people and be the only one bit lol
lately they are hell bent on my ankles, I bought higher socks, they get in there somehow? (wtf?!)
My dermatologist removes the mosquito scars (which do create another scar), but the trade off is, the mosquito scars are "active", so it's a good trade off for me.
when @gizmo mentioned the mountains, my brain did a duh thing, I live on the back side of a mountain, and there is a giant hill behind my house, that explains the daddy long legs everywhere
in other news, we woke up to 2 dead crickets, thank you s/o's cat, because does anyone else go insane if there is a cricket in the house?

I am one of the few people that aren't allergic to mosquitos, at all. They bite me, but I don't get a hive or itching.
WOW - that is a thing? I didn't think that was possible! I know that there are certain people who just don't get bit but...wow no reaction at all! That is hitting the jack-pot when it comes to outdoor recreation in the summer LMAO.

I am the same :( I read about this and apparently their is research done on the temperament of people and who get bitten by mosquitoes and who don't - also blood pressure relations I read about too. Interesting stuff.
does anyone else go insane if there is a cricket in the house?
YES!!!! Crickets are my nemesis! (I've probably said that before with every bug hahaha don't judge) Once August hits through October the crickets by me are insane. If I didn't know any better I would think they had a personal vendetta against me! Every year I spray the strongest bug spray I could get my hands on the perimeter of my house and in my garage and you would think it would keep em away? Noooooo they just hop on in anyway and jump out at me when I walk by (ok so maybe they are jumping away from me) but still jumping and scaring the crap out of me. Some of those suckas are HUGE!!! Also, when one gets in the garage they cricket ALL night and so loud but I am too afraid to go in there and get em. I just hope they don't creep in under the door and get into my house :O_o:

Sooooo should I bring up stink bugs?? Anyone have them around? :chicken: THOSE are just gross.

^^ :roflmao::roflmao: that gave me such a good laugh picturing you jumping one way and the crickets the other
though crickets are good luck in some parts of the world, the cat has finally proven to me she has a use, hah!
my s/o doesn't get bit by mosquitos :/ he can stuff it lol
stink bugs? *runs*, we have had 2 in 5 years, s/o traps them and brings them out, for obvious reasons lol

just reread @Neverthesame 's post about the moth flying into his ear, *screams* because it wants to eat your brains!!!!

I am glad I can give you a good laugh :D
I have heard about crickets being good luck.....mmmm I not buy that one! My friend yelled at me when I went to go step on one...."noooooooooooooo they are good luck." I just laughed and stomped 'em! "Take that goodluck!" I wonder exactly why anyone would think they were good luck - I mean did they see a cricket and then win the lottery?? You know some moron made that up and it became a trend
I don't have a cat but I know they do love to catch jumpy things - definitely a good use!
Only 2 in 5 years? Wow....lucky you. They are a BIG problem around my parts. I think they look like little aliens that move really slowly....probably planning to take over the world! :roflmao:

I killed a spider by my front door the other day. I stepped on it, squished it to bits and ground it into the rug until it broke into pieces. Only then was I satisfied that it was deader than dead! I hate spiders in the house. Outside, they kill other bugs, so I try not to get too upset about them out there, but inside, in the entryway, in the hallway outside my apartment door, that was too close for comfort! Even though I kill them when I see them in the house, I have cobwebs. I hate those too!

However, there are one kind of bugs that never bothered me when I lived in Florida. I thought they were kind of funny and cute: LOVEBUGS. You would see them flying around in pairs mating and it was a sight to see!

@Silver. I hate those things too. I find one every few months. Never had that many though.

Did your furnace just start running regularly?

I read that these bugs are known to take shelter behind the aluminium siding of homes as the fall temperature starts dropping, then become dormant.

Then when the homes heating comes on, they will warm up enough to become active again. They will then make their way into the home seeking shelter from the cold.

This might be why you can't find the nest. There may not be one.

You might have some luck with putting fly paper around the edges of rooms that seem to be accumulating alot of these. You might also try around sills and doors.

Hopefully this is just the residual adult population fleeing the winter chill.

@SheilaKathy Ha ha. Good. One fewer spider in the world. Only 100,000,000,000 more to go.

Lovebugs sound cute. But Florida also has chiggers. Those things are evil. Lol.

@Silver. OMG! We are overrun with those freaking little crappers.... there everywhere. I tried sitting outside on the porch the other day with a cup of coffee...... I lasted about 10 minutes, all I was doing was swatting at those annoying things. In my hair, on my clothes..... UGH!!!!!

Yes, they are crawling under the doors and coming inside!!!! Their dead when I find them. Foot to bug, works well!!!!!!

@Silver. Your little quote pic cracked me up!!!!

BTW since October hit we are seeing stink bugs all over our screens. These suckers give me the heebie jeebies and I am running around keeping all windows closed and spraying when I can. None have gotten into the house yet....it's been a battle!
