Reminds me of Netherland where a woman was allowed after applying for free self death help to kill her self. She had ptsd.

Why cant they just put their money and effort on giving the support and help we actually need?

Read the articel. The effect of this drug is to make any body feel good. It doesnt solve the problem. Problem / trauma / ptsd doesnt magically poof goe away cause you do drugs. Loads of drug user and amfetamin users ca tell tales of that.

I say no and no and no no no no NO again.

Treat us with respect and dignity and help us to relearn life and then get it back.

@Bloomy I did read the article, thourghly. I believe that under the care of a trained psychologist/psychiatrist that this may be an effective treatment for those that have tried conventional treatments and haven't been helped. I don't believe that just anyone should try this. I feel done with trained people and in controlled situations, that it might be benificial to some people.

How many yrs do somepeople suffer, and with no let up with symptoms? How many more people have to commit suicide before help has arrived????

The strike-though is mine. Ecstasy & MDMA are as different from each other as cake and flour. Ecstasy is a cocktail designer drug of several different drugs with an MDA or MDMA base, while MDMA is just MDMA, all by itself. 3, 4 Methelynedioxymethamphetamane and nothing added to it.

@Bloomy The use of MDMA isn't as a party drug, or even in conjunction with therapy like an antidepressant or antianxiety med. It's taken in therapy, with the therapist present, specifically to process through trauma sans trust-issues & lies & guilt/shame. No one's claiming that snorting some Molly & going dancing will cure anyone. No one's even claiming that using MDMA in a therapeutic setting will cure anyone. What it's been shown to do is speed up the amount of time it takes in therapy. Literally years. A person still has to process the trauma, still has to learn coping mechanisms, still has to manage their stress, & still has PTSD. It's not a cure. It's a tool. Like EMDR.

I knew ecstasy was often a mix of crap, but I thought it was "supposed" to be straight MDMA. Thanks for posting this.

I get the point of how to use it in therapy. And I feel like vomit by the bare thought of it. Ive done drugs. Sure. When I was really young and really really messed up. With that knowledge I just think they should be very very very careful of such solution to treat people.

For me personally to take drugs and be in therapy would not be good neither for me nor the therapist. And I also think that goes for many others too. I stand by that its an desperart solution that they are takin great risk to introduce as one can not know how people react to be on drugs.

I did not think it was ment for jolly golly party wohodedoodly. But I still feel like its cheap and dangerous experiment.

It completely pisses me off that they continually wrap the name mdma up with ecstasy. The two are completely different.

MAPS has put MDMA to the test for 30 years, longer than most pharmaceutical companies have to test their drugs. It works by shutting down the fear centre and allowing us to process our traumatic issues without retraumatizing ourselves.

I am thrilled that it has come as far as it has in the studies.

I want to add..... I'm glad that this may be a new treatment for those with PTSD. I wouldn't try it for myself, I'm too afraid of stuff like this. I've never done anything other than pot, and as a teenager I did speed maybe 3 times. I'm just too afraid of stuff like this. But for those willing and if it will help them, the go for it!!!!

I think the journalists refer to it as ecstasy because the majority of nondruggos aren't aware of the difference between the two. :roflmao: I didn't hear a single thing about MDMA in D.A.R.E. back when I went to a regular school, only ecstasy.
