I absolutely understand painfulness of being shunned by people one associated with, but it's a good thing...

You are right. I hope though that the people who were like parents to me in that religion, wake up see the light and get out. The one woman who was like a mom to me, her son-in-law who left the religion, had a hard time and was found dead from ODing, just a few days ago.

They may, they may not, but they're not your concern. It's important that you do, and that you're making choices that help your life, & finding freedom in what you do and hope to do.
