@leelee Yes, I have a guinea pig! His name is angel and he is feisty. He gives me "bite kisses" as my husband used to call them when our dogs did that to him. Angel does not break my skin or hurt me with his bite kisses, but they do make me kind of nervous. None the less, the last 2 times I held him, he did not do this, so maybe he is outgrowing it.
I love the cheerful noises he makes. Kind of a squeeking noise, I guess, but very upbeat musically. He likes Kale, Cucumbers and tomatoes mostly, and he is allowed a small serving of fruit every few days. However, since I eat fruit every day, I give him too much of it, I am guilty! It is said that if I give him too much fruit, he could get diabetes, so I really do have to be careful about this. So I just give him a very small piece of the fruits I eat maybe once a day or so. He likes raisins too, but I only gave him one so far, they are pretty sweet!
I eat mostly cold foods. I am not much of a cook. I love cottage cheese, turkey lunch meat, and all the veggies he loves. I had cooked kale for the first time today at church and it was good. I have to try cooking some of his kale for me. It is said to be high in Vitamin C, which both he and I need. My immune system is weak due to my having Lyme Disease, so I drink a tea that has Vitamin C in it too.
Anyway, yes, a pet is a very nice companion, if one can afford one. I cannot afford vet bills, so my pet is one that does not need a vet. We had them when we were kids, so he brings back happy memories too.
