White vinegar may be good for household uses but I hear it is not good for consumption as it is a byproduct of petroleum distillate....for consumption use apple cider vinegar instead
Ooooo....please share anything you have that may have more info on that, if you don't mind. I love learning more about this stuff. I don't recall ever purposely ingesting the white vinegar, but many folks use it for things like curdling milk, salad dressings, etc., so I may have unknowingly consumed it through the years. I wouldn't mind so much if was they byproduct of corn, as I currently know it to be, which has its own downfalls. .
Seeking out the highest quality and doing research to become a more informed consumer has made a huge difference in my day to day existence. I've not yet found a whole lot of info specifically talking about the white vinegar, be it from corn or petroleum, neither of which brings much quality of life to the table, unfortunately.
The variety we use is specified to be from corn, which is also disturbing because of the gmo stuff. "Old MacDonald had a farm, G-M-G-M-O......." I guess while considering much of what is purposefully placed in our current "food" supply and deemed by industries to be okay to ingest, white vinegar doesn't seem all that bad, although I'd still not choose to ingest it if given the choice.
As far as laundry goes, I'd rather have a little white vinegar absorbed into my skin vs. an ongoing toxic blend of diethyl ester dimethyl ammonium chloride, fragrance (which can be quite the toxic brew that they aren't required to disclose, especially directly on the packaging), calcium chloride, formic acid, hydrochloric acid, dye, polydimethylsiloxane, methylisothiazolinone/methylchloroisothiazolinone, cationic polymer, diethylenetriamine pentaacetate, sodium salt, etc. (ingredient list shared from ultra downy fabric softener found at:

(While you're at it, check out the fragrance list as well to see what all goes into that favorite scent blend, much of which is continually and actively disrupting the endocrine systems of every living thing within nose shot:

The organic apple cider vinegar with the "mother" in it is my preferred kind for culinary use, medicinal use, occasional hygiene use, and to soak my fruit and veggies in to clean them before eating, including the organic stuff. It gets sprayed with crap, too, prior to shipment, unless you're buying directly from a local well-known source or growing your own, but check the seeds supplier out real well in those instances. There's the Bragg brand of apple cider vinegar with the mother, which is rather pricey, but our local Kroger stores offer the Nature's Promise brand at a more reasonable cost.
As far as cleaning goes, there's a white vinegar/dawn dish washing liquid combo that works great on bathroom cleaning, too. I used to think those scrubbing bubbles and CLR remover were the best things to use, but after reading the ingredients and such, and having nausea and a headache each time I cleaned, even with it being well ventilated and using additional fans, I discovered the dawn/white vinegar solution and have been using it ever since. Much less elbow grease required when scrubbing with this formula, too, which is super helpful with these often achy shoulders of mine.
The white vinegar also eliminated the need to buy that high dollar high efficiency laundry detergent, and those expensive special cleaning tablets to use in the machine each month to keep that funky smell at bay. Since we started using the vinegar for laundry, there's been absolutely no nasty smell happening that requires extra cleaning cycles and such.
It angers me to know we've been lied to and purposely manipulated about so many things on such a grand scale and so many folks profit rather well from our ongoing suffering and demise. It's no wonder there's hardly a healthy human left.
