The Easter Egg Weekend - What Are You Doing?

The weekend of Easter eggs. Love those yummy chocolate little suckers of goodness.

Doing anything special?

Here in Australia its a long weekend, with both Friday and Monday being public holidays... we have the footy on Saturday night, I think we're cleaning tomorrow (Friday), argh! Walking the dogs, taking it easy, maybe consuming a beer or six. ;) And no idea what Sunday or Monday brings to the equation yet. Maybe a movie in there somewhere too.

I have a lovely Aussie leg of lamb to share with my co workers for potluck Easter Dinner. Otherwise I be rehydrating the imbibers, sewing up the fighters, and fixing just about anyone else who goes through the clinic doors. Amid the forecast snow storms for the weekend.

LOL... snow storms. Just coming into winter here, and looking forward to it. Love the cold.

 

[Friday]

Ideally, acquiring a vehicle & going up the mountains to go sledding.

Failing that? Zombie/Vampire weekend (rising from the dead). Because we're very reverent. Also there tends to be a lot of moaning and lurching about when the pass is closed & we can't go play. So might as well run with that.

I'll be placing rocks that are shaped like eggs, that I painted to look Eastery, in the parks in my little town for the little ones to find and have a 'forever' Easter Egg.

 

[Tornadic Thoughts]

I'll stuff some medjool dates with peanut butter and walnuts and/or cashews and dip them in melted non-dairy chocolate chips to satisfy the sweet tooth cravings. Reeses peanut butter cups used to be my favorite and those dates thankfully manage to rock my former reese loving self's world. A little too well.

We'll plant more veggies and herbs and grill a bunch of plant stuff.

Will wrestle dust bunnies as we spring clean and thin some clutter.

Will avoid all crowded festive spaces, unless I hear of some good outdoor live music or a drum circle.

Will finally make some more hula hoops to take to a local camp ground to spread some joy.

Doing anything special?...

Here in my place, we love easter! My family doing it every easter sunday, we go church and egg hunt with prices. We've been doing this since when I was a kid. Advance Happy Easter everyone!

We are going out to eat...my daughter picked the restaurant!

I got her a Ghirardelli chocolate Bunny and other candy.

And to top it all off a visa gift card.

Thought I better add that I put them in little plastic bags with a note saying they are rocks..... but special Forever Eggs for who ever finds them... don't want to freak out any parents.... or know that a kid tried to eat one !!!
