You have given him enough of your headspace already. Forget about the article!

That's exactly what I meant anonymous. I know my own ptsd-self goes off the rails when 'triggering' kind of info is read/ heard/ overheard/ seen, etc. It just runs all over the place.

Lol. Well that's ok, the driving. But we'll change the tv channels a lot. Ooops, I do that anyway.. :whistling:

Sorry if I sound rude but is posting something like that on a ptsd forum where many people have been sexually assaulted really in anyone's best interest? I think you may be doing more harm than good with this one.

It is an article from a journalist about 2 different scientific studies. I wouldn't take it too seriously. The main thing seems to be aborting males or having male children in which male microchimerism is applicable.

This cannot possibly be, in any way, real science.

Surprised fourth page came up before question of veracity. The 'Eww' factor weighs in as we take a little time
imagining pseudo science. Realizing how the OP, in the nature of wording a declaration of, 'weird, but really is', to
draw the reader in with little motivation to check the type stories covered at the URL. Fundamentally unsound, but
nobody need hear it from me. In other words, what bull!

Snopes wrote about this here: FACT CHECK: Do Women Retain DNA From Every Man They Have Ever Slept With?

Basically, this all comes from this fact: autopsies on women who have been pregnant and those who have not been pregnant - both have male cells in their brain.

It's unproven as to *why* this is the case.

There are numerous plausible explainations. One of them is the possibility the cells came from male babies that didn't make it to term (miscarriages). Snopes believes the least likely possibility is that it's from sex without pregnancy.

It not only allows people with trauma to discuss something amongst their peers that is an entirely different conversation than amongst those without sexual assault. Whether the focus is science, silly, or serious...

...but the OP themselves, someone with PTSD, read this article & was grossed out by it. Bringing it here to process amongst their peers? A completely rational thing for them to do. That's why we have these forums. People can bring news they've read and talk about it amongst others. It doesn't have to be uplifting or feel good news. In fact, most of it will probably be disturbing to many. Whether scientific news or the latest terror attack.

I've had 7 miscarriages. I have had fewer lovers than that even. None the less, I don't know what to do with this information. I tend to agree with the person who said that they have lived their whole life without knowing this and now that they know this, it really should not change anything. They (and I) are still the same people we were before we read this! End of story.

Is it totally wrong that everyone else is saying ew and I am saying "hmmm, intresting?" There's gotta be something wrong with me, right?

But, I agree that it holds little water as the other possible reasons were not factored out (like a real scientific study should if you ask me on how scientific studies should be done...in my opinion). So, until those factors are factored out, leaving sexual intercourse that did not result in a pregnacy left as the only possibilty, it holds little water in my book. Obviously there are the absorbed and "body killed fetus" pregancies that no one knows about, which could also be the answer. But, until you factor out known pregancies, you can't say it is not from a male fetus that was previously in the woman's body.

Just my own two cents.

Me:-Dad you want to hear the strangest thing? I tell him about this...
Dad: Yup right on the money...that is pretty strange lol
@lostforgottensoul There's nothing wrong with you! I have the same reaction..i found this pretty interesting and most likely knowing this wont change my behavior.
@SheilaKathy I agree this really isn't going to change my perspective on anything.. very interesting tho

An ex-friend once told me she had sex with 430 different men. Yikes!
