What Makes You Angry Today?

I find that if I have something bugging me nothing helps with the sleep. I have taken some pretty hardy sleeping tablets before too and been wide awake. Sometimes I wish I had some of that shit they use in hospitals to make you drowsy.

Good luck to the both of you.

Sleep, perchance to dream............................YIKES!

It can be really tough when there seems like a universe of stuff is going though your head. Nothing helps that I've seem either. Exam time, between studying and and nervousness about whether I'd done enough, I couldn't sleep for days. Or what sleep I go was shitty.

I don't like the meds route for myself as it makes me like a zombie and super surly and that's worse. I hope it's only for a short time and then things will get back to 'normal' for ya'll.

I've gotten involved with a new therapy that the VA is offering for people with sleep problems. I'll be starting it at the end of the month. I'll be with my current therapist and it's individual sessions so I'm hopeful. I also think that Jimmy's talked about his routine prior to going to sleep that's helpful as well.

Best of luck with the exams.

At the risk of sounding selfish (bothered..........) can you give us a sitrep on that therapy, Jar? Because I'd appreciate ANY f*#king clues.................

Echo that, Ned! Every night I take a cocktail of drugs that would bring a bull elk to his knees. 2-3 hours sleep. Up and down all night. Sit there and smoke cigarettes and watch tv, get drowsy, down, up. I'd almost welcome death...just to get some goddam shut eye.

Sarg

Sarg I am not going to like that. despite empathy. I got a good night's sleep Saturday night, first in six months or so. No f*cking clue why, but I got it. And waking up was wonderful. So f*ck off with that and look forward to the odd gift.
Respectfully, Ned.

Me too, Ned. Publish it. I have taken all the drugs and now just Lorazepam and that's pretty light for me. Not really meant to help with sleep but I think it's significant that it does help. I went to a sleep clinic and learned all the rules but it needs reinforcement and practice.
I get a good belly laugh when all the doctors on TV say get at least 8 to 9 hours every night. I would like them to try and lie down after thinking every night of your life was going to be in the junfle in pitch black darkness with ants and snakes all around, never mind the human kind. My rifle was my teddy bear for a while. Still is. :(

No problemo,

I'll put a thread up when I get started and give progress reports. Like everyone else, kinda' desperate for some good sleep, now and again.

We could move this to the sleep area, but the subject makes everybody sad so here goes.
I complain of lack of sleep and my wife will say 'You were snoring and dead to the world'.
So it's not really sleeping that is the problem sometimes, it's staying asleep. I can wake up anywhere between three and four times in a night which means I am lucky to get to 2 REM cycles, that is where the ultimate rest is.
