I just realised, if "another ....Lifer" is someone who done 10 years more than you, then that makes me one aswell at 10 years less than you, which makes everybody else on here one aswell!

Oi Angle, I would add what a lot of genuine vets reckon. You never go back to being a civvy. So seriously, and when you add why we're on this site, yes, we're all lifers. But most of us want another life. Which we can have. Spoilt little preciouses, aren't we?

Boots!? All I wear is boots, Highleg Stnd Issue (9 holes no twisted laces). And no I am not and have no intention of being a "Cow Boy". The Bare backing I will leave to you guys :cool: just for the record.

Cowboys always use saddles on their horses. I will leave the bare backing to Indians and sailors. (Sorry squids, I simply couldn't resist that cheap shot)! BTW -- my riding boots of choice are Jodhpurs or Chelseas. I agree with you that the pointy toe "shit kickers" are NFG. They are incredibly uncomfortable and a waste of good leather.

BTW -- From my perspective, civvie is a legal condition inflicted upon us by our respective governments. Many thanks to our paper-pushing civil servants in Whitehall or Washington, to mention just a few.

I do live near a village -- but "Village People" would be dragged out of here behind a pickup truck. We aren't very liberal in Montana.;)

Jodhpur boots -- look them up. (some Brits call them paddock boots). I use a western saddle and wear boot-cut blue jeans. Practical and comfortable my friend.
