It will be interesting to see what Trump speaks about on a Tuesday at his first address to the UN.

I'm fairly certain it will be appalling (as in arrogant, ignorant, and embarrassing, insert other adjective here...)

Has anyone else had a later-in-life wish to apply to the FBI or CIA? Given how I feel now, I wish I had majored in criminal justice rather than English. It's not that I regret my career as a reference book writer. Just that I would love to have been a detective, which basically uses the same kinds of analytical skills. And sometimes I feel like I haven't put my abilities to the best use for others. I scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE for analytical ability. So I'm not exaggerating or boasting, just stating a fact. And kind of feeling that I really should have put that to use in a better way. Education is good, but so is crime solving. Blah. Guess this is just one more way to beat myself up.

Really, it would be out of the question to ask people to abandon Facebook altogether. (I have an account but my timeline is empty......I only use it for things like the very occasional reaching out to a particular person for a particular reason.....and I don't have their phone number.). But yeah, that's what it would probably take! I'm kind of laughing at potentially being ahead of the curve on this one!

Native Russian speakers make unique mistakes in English, and a lot of the quizzes are rife with them.

That doesn't make it Russian. That makes it, generally malware.

This premieres tonight and I wonder if I'll be able to watch. My father was drafted at 19 (!!). Vietnam lived with us daily, never spoken about, forever present. My brother and I were fortunate that he was distant and never violent. He hated war, and politicians for that matter...

It is of note that I very much admire the work of Ken Burns.

That is exactly the concern -
Slashdot. Or at least part of the concern about what Russia tried to do via Facebook in this election and others.

Destabilization is their goal. They even posted events for protests.

That being said, I think the vast majority of quizzes are a variety of non-Russian malware and data mining groups.
