Well, Trump just can’t seem to not stir shit. Now it’s with the NFL. He’s calling on the owners to fire the players who kneel instead of standing. Doesn’t he get it, that they are not disrespecting our flag, but rather asking that treatment for all people be better????

It’s just controversy after controversy with him. He’s not happy unless he’s stirring the pot, making people pissed off, and causing shit, rather than doing his f*ckING job. OMG, I just want to bang my f*cking head against a wall sometimes and scream..... I know that the investigation will take time, but I wish they just focus for now on obstruction of justice on Trump and get him the hell out of office and then finish the rest of the investigation and get the rest of the creeps out!!!!!!!

I feel and share your frustration, @SheCat. But I also trust Mueller is doing his job in the best way. It may take some agonizing time, but justice will come!

Meantime, I got an insulting message from a guy on FB who evidently hates liberals. Lol. Well, not really lol. It's kind of scary to be targeted, but I have to laugh because he is such an idiot.

The NFL, really?
I wouldn't have thought a US president would have time to watch enough football games to notice a recurring pattern like that. I also wouldn't have thought the country was running so smoothly that this is the most important problem facing the nation as a whole.

I'm amazed. The American people deserve a hearty pat on the back. For in a single week, solving the other monumental problems which plagued the country for so long. The wars on terror and drugs have been won, the national debt is payed off, the unemployment rate is 0, every citizen can afford their basic needs, gang violence has been stopped, gun control is effective, every child will receive a full education, you have an excellent heath care system, everyone is legally in the country and no longer are people discriminated against because of their gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
That's what happened right?......Right?

That's why the president is calling national attention to what posture a few individuals take during the first minute and a half of a football game? Because the country is fixed?

What's next? Will he declare martial law if his favourite team loses the superbowl? :meh:

@Neverthesame Trump isn’t happy unless he is stirring the pot, creating divisions, controversy, and the focus is clearly on him.... it’s what narcissistic people thrive on.

I really believe that Puting researched Trump, knew that someday Trump would run for office and then he HELPED trump get elected. Russia meddled in our elections, he planned this and implemented his plan, Trump isn’t stable and the world knows this, and I believe Putin used this to his advantage. Putin wants the country devided, he wants the world divided so that he and Russia will become the super power. Putin is narcissistic too, but I really think he’s also very intelligent, where Trump isn’t. He plays right into your hand, and Putin knows this. I wouldn’t doubt is Putin was behind North Korea’s upswing in the bullshit they’re pulling lately????

Well, if Trump was upset because of a FEW NFL players kneeling, wait till the next 3games all start at 1:00 today!!! The game overseas was just one example of players sticking together. Wait till Trump see the shitstorm he’s started.....

NASCAR owners just came out in favor of Trump and threatened to fire anyone who protests.

NFL vs NASCAR... sounds like the sports event of the century. Makes for good ratings.

Is this the biggest thing we should be concerned about right now?

I support the rights of those people who want to protest peacefully. Legit concerns and it's peaceful and not even mildly disruptive. Protesting the anthem, because one disagrees with the direction the nation is headed, is by no means new. It's ironically part of what makes this nation amazing.

I believe, contractual issues aside, private business owners also have the right to fire people if they protest while on the job especially if they are using the job as a platform for the protest. (Someone correct me if I am wrong, as I very well could be.)

I am not allowed to protest while working, let alone use my job to make it a bigger protest. I have to do my job. I shouldn't be fired for protesting on my own free time though....

I don't agree with it what NASCAR is doing, I think it just fuels the divide (and ratings!!!)

But most of all, NASCAR and the NFL are selling products. They want eyeballs on the screen to sell you stuff. Is this chaos making people pay more attention? For many people, yes.

You are being played America.

We have a commander in chief who wants you distracted and sports teams who want you watching to see what they will do.

Is this our biggest concern as a nation? If someone kneels or not during the anthem? Really?!

We are so easily distracted.

In all this protesting and tweeting and advertising and kneeling and threatening to fire people and etc.... what is changing?

There are more eyeballs on screens. That's about it.

I'm quite annoyed.

Football used to be a male dominated thing, for the longest time. Now more women are watching. People at both extremes are losing their minds I am guessing.

The players of these teams make so much friggen money. I think it is interesting to watch, this never happened before. I do not know which way it will go but it makes for interesting entertainment for me anyway. This game has become all about the money. Disgusting.

I'm quite annoyed.
I quite agree!! Although I disagree that we are "not so easily distracted". I am fully behind any and all protesting that calls into question inequality, particularly in terms of *racism*! (which should be one of our biggest concerns and yet still is not)

More kneeling please and well done!

I am still inching my way through the Vietnam documentary, and am approximately late second half of the fourth episode and have realized, with a significant shudder, that there is an appropriate mirror being held up. The timing couldn't be more significant. I can feel my dead father applaud!

Protest is not about who allows it. Bravo players!!
