Sufferer Short Term Memory Loss?

I'm sorry, what was the question??????

lol Sorry....I couldn't resist. Yes, my short term memory is horrible. I am constantly writing reminders and lists for myself. I have to be vigilant about where I leave things like my keys or cellphone or else I will never find them. It can be very frustrating at times!!

I am constantly checking where my keys, glasses and cell phone are. It's almost become an obsession, checking two or three times a day to make sure I know where they are.

Yes, short-term memory does fail me a lot. I think it's part of the PTSD territory.

Thank you all so much! You even got me to laugh! I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only one, and even 'normal' (all things considered). lol.

I try to make notes for myself, but sometime I even forget to do that. I'm constantly telling everyone at work to just send me an email "so it's on my 'to do' list" haha right.

I've even written things down on my hand, because you can't lose that! Well, I will keep trying. Thanks again!

OMG! This just reminded me that I used to do the exact same thing when I was at work! Huh... the things we do huh?

Pixie

Yip I also do that all the time. If it isn't on my email list I don't do it LOL

i could not memorize anything... I tried to take an acting class.. This is after much recovery work... could not memorize the page from the play... Thierfore, had to quit the class..

Lots and LOts and lots of memory problems...

I just logged in before actually going Christmas shopping this morning, and realized I left my 'list' book at the dam dentist yesterday.

I'm going with my very good PTSD-tolerant friend who is traditionally in charge of where the heck we left the car. I am fairly certain I am not the only one to spend inordinate amounts of time wandering parking garages in search of the *##@** car.

Take care, and if I'm not back here later someone please call the security folks at the garage and tell them to go rescue the lost blond chick. :)

Oh no you certainly ain't allown on that one Anni, I don't drive but when my boyfriend takes me shopping and waits in the car for me I find myself constantly ringing him on his mobile to stand out of the sun roof cause 'I can't remember where the f****** car is' LOL

Raising my hand for losing cars in parking lots as well. I remember it was pouring down rain once - my daughter and I had gone shopping (2 PTSD's not a good sign - LOL) we literally wondered around for over an hour - in the RAIN looking for the frigging car - yeah we were about ready to kill each other by the time we found it. Fortunately, now it's an ongoing joke with us (and a reminder to write down what section we parked in).

Hahahaha! YES! I even got a red ribbon and tied it to the antennae, thinking it would be useful. All I can imagine is that there are more PTSD sufferers out there than we are at all aware of. Does anyone have any idea how many cars have a dam red ribbon tied to the antennae?

Yes, perhaps writing down where I park would be an awful lot better. :)

Memory

I wonder what it would be like to have one that funtions properly.

My work date book used to be just for what it was meant for, keeping appointments and client info. For the last 4 years I have refered to it as my memory.

I have to write down everything as it happens or I cannot recall. This includes every time I take a med for if I do not 5 minutes later I have no recolection if I took it or not. I got tired of having to constantly having to count my pills to see if I took one or not.

If I do not write it down it never happened. The meds I have been trying recently just makes it worse. I am embarassed to admit how many things I have missed because I did not make note of it.

Recently I am even having a hard time writing in my book, a major behavior change. This cannot be good.
