The conflict over who gets to receive government handouts and how extensive those handouts should be....
Leads to some very unpleasant places.
The first place in the modern world with extensive handouts (technically they were ponzi schemes rather than largesse) was Germany, under Bismark.
As soon as such schemes begin, the conflicts begin over who gets them, how much and for what. Human wants are virtually limitless, the resources to fulfil them are always scarce, so conflict and dissatisfaction are inevitable.
A politician isn't going to admit that the schemes are fundamentally until workable, instead, they're likely to cast blame around.
1) the schemes are being administered by incompetents
2) the funds are being wasted on the undeserving
3) the system is basically sound, but it is being sabotaged by people's who hate us.
Germany was the first place to have big state welfare schemes, and a major factor in elections was addressing those three points
The national socialist German workers party, proposed
1) themselves as the competent people to manage and expandemic the schemes
2) the disabled and non aryans as the ones who were wasting funds that could better be spent on healthy Germans
3) yes, the schemes were being sabotaged, as was the rest of the country, by an international conspiracy.
Just compare those points with some of the points raised in recent posts and consider where they lead to in Germany
First, disabled people were euthainised, minority groups were prevented from working... people's ancestries were officially scruitinised... you know fine well where it ended up
Please guys, edjumicate yourselves, it really can happen in America.
