Thank you..I was just going to contact you about finding a way to "disconnect" for a while-it's in everyone's best interest.I recalled someone mentioning it a while ago and was searching for it.

The grammar there is a little hard to sort out. If the OP wants to know if that stuff is traumatic, it definitely can be traumatic. But all trauma doesn't cause PTSD, not even all incidents of Criterion A trauma. So, maybe, the important thing, @TommySunlight , is, are you having problems in your everyday life that you think might be PTSD? Have you sort out any help for them, if you have?

I respectfully disagree with your analysis. It is very oversimplified.

Research is clear that "trauma...
Thanks for this comment it really put many things in perspective, I value your charity and response

Thanks for the responses everyone. Yes I have dissociation, a chronic sense of both impending doom and feeling unsafe, loss of identity, memory impairment, etc. On top of the cyberbullying I also had previous trauma in youth that included witnessing 9/11 as an 8 year old within close proximity, bullying, emotional withholding, also when I was 13 went through a one time event that scared and I am not yet to come to terms with it. Also I was diagnosed with ADHD a while back so idk if such can make one acute to such. The cyberbullying also resulted in people sharing personal information of mine amongst one another

@TommySunlight - I write, draw( drawing lessons have been fun), take time for photography, do music- play in a group, cook, and do poetry. I try to do this regularly as it helps reduce my stress- which reduces my chances of dissociation. These things help balance my life- and also are a way I deal w stuff ( sometimes with humor- and sometimes more seriously) - check out PTSD Poetry anyone. Lots of folks have posted their poems there- very cool stuff. You have lots to tell-and deal with it appears-poetry could be fun and therapeutic- at least for me it is. Other people on this site do art, music, and all sorts of cool stuff to help them express their emotions. I hope you find your way. This is a good place to be.:)

Witnessing a terrorist attack is one of the things that can cause PTSD.

It can ALSO cause or exaccerbate a number of other conditions. Or have no effect whatsoever.

From what you’ve written here & in your other posts I’d think there are 4 or 5 disorders which are far more likely than PTSD, although quite frankly / speaking as someone with ADHD-c, your existing ADHD diagnosis could also easily explain every single symptom you’ve been experiencing. One of those it’s not a classic presentation OF adhd / what you describe wouldn’t make me suggest someone go get evaluated for ADHD, but it’s textbook response to these kinds of events by someone who has ADHD. Trying to get ADHD kids/adults to stop feeding the trolls almost requires a crowbar and syringe of haldol. Just like for people with HFA or OCD, when people with certain disorders get fixated/hyper focused on something? Oy vey. No matter how much harm it’s causing them, they’re like a dog with a radioactive bone, who just will. not. let. it. go.

"it’s textbook response to these kinds of events by someone who has ADHD" how so exactly?

The same way how you’ve been responding are textbook responses for people with other disorders.

Using the example of continuing to go back to social media sites that are causing you distress &/or you’re being treated badly on:

OCD - would be the compulsion you’ve mentioned in not stopping / it’s not as simple as just stopping... combined with the obsessive thinking / ruminating and beliefs surrounding what would happen if you did stop.

ADHD - that’s shite impulse control, rather than compulsion, in not stopping... combined with hyperfocus once you’re there or the moment you think about being there/ it’s not as simple as just stopping.

GAD - Same behavior again, but this time it’s not a compulsion, and not lack of impulse control, but anxiety driven.

HFA - You’d be dealing with a fixation, and possibly a few other disorder specific issues.

All 4 of which come along with BIG emotions surrounding doing it, not doing it, stopping it, thinking about it, etc.

So the pattern of behavior isn’t enough to shout any single diagnosis, but knowing what diagnosis is in play gives a person the tools necessary to change the pattern of behavior by addressing the primary symptoms driving the pattern, AND secondary symptoms (anxiety attacks, SI/SH, nightmares, etc.) That are resulting from the pattern.
