First of all, I'm sorry you've endured such a traumatic event, especially in childhood. I can't imagine what it must be like to suddenly remember things that you've repressed for many years. I can, however, relate to the fact that memories surface out of no where. Thankfully, I don't remember all of my abuse. There are things that I'm sure our brains "block" to protect us from that mental harm. If you've not already found one, I'd recommend finding a mental health professional to help you through this journey. It's a long, difficult path, but ultimately, it can give you an immense amount of peace if grieved properly. Remember to be kind to yourself, and reach out to your support systems anytime you need it.
