Thank you Lord for all of the daily blessings amidst my personal turmoil with PTSD. It reminds me that You are faithful even during my darkest hours

Even the midwife's were impressed with his no bs approach to this birth and his PTSD humour.

That is awesome! Wow, I wish I could have a midwife come to my home to help deliver babies in this state! It's illegal! Can you believe that? Stupid rules....

Thank you for friends on forums; who accept us as we are.... (wow, I'm a sap today :crybaby: )

Double big thank you that the mammogram, sonogram and exam I had today revealed that everything is normal. Very stressful, very tiring...but good day today.

Nam,

Don't worry we still have our battles here in Australia. Independent midwives can practice anywhere here in Aus but they cannot get indemnity insurance and they are not always welcome. New Zealand has their s@*t in one sock. You are assigned a midwife, as part of the public healthcare system at the beginning of your pregnancy journey. All research shows (across the world) that one on one midwifery care results in better outcomes for mums and bubs, reduces the caesarian rate (currently 1 in 3 in Aus) and is cheaper!! Still the governments, obviously run by the species that has never given birth, opt for the more expensive, more invasive options. The sad part about it is women in this country (and I dare say across the world) are ending up with PTSD from what should, in most cases be a natural process. After all we don't have ob's in the bedroom when we create the little critters!

Thankyou to all the women out there who are not accepting of policies that interfere with our right to birth babies naturally!

Kerri-Ann that is great. I alway had horrible experiences with my first 3 born in the hospital. My little one #4 was born in my home with a midwife. Would never have done it any other way if I had known how wonderful it was. My favorite and one of the few pics I have is curled up in my bed next to hubby with her in our arms in a dimly lit room. The photos taken the next day of me were horrible, but in that one I felt empowered and beautiful that one night almost 3 years ago. I look at the pic and I can still see it that way. Hubs just looked like crap (but in awe) LOL.

But my thank you I came to say. Thank you Anthony for guiding me again in the right direction and me finally have a emotional cry. For those who don't get it, I cannot cry, it was progress.

HI Kerri anne and nam.
i was wondering nam if you ever checked out MANA-the Midwives alliance of North America. Sometimes even in states where it is illegal, there are midwives to be found. look at the bible and what it says about midwives when pharoah ordered them to kill the israelite babies at birth and see why denying women the right to birth where and with whom they choose is bound to result in underground subversity!! blessings tania

Veiled,

That is the plan with this one. Independent midwife, little interference. If we can conceive them, grow them then surely we can birth them with a little support. I know some women need the medico's and that's great that we have access to them if needed. Its just that, the almighty dollar and the thought of being sued is scaring people into unnecessary interventions and surgery.

Bornjoyful,

We have our own maternity voices here at work in Aus to ensure that women have the right to give birth as they choose. My voice will be another one added to theirs once this babe is born. Safe, healthy births are the right of every woman.

A Reminder of How Much I Have To Be Thankful For

I never imagined I'd live to be 39yrs. old and I'm greatly thankful I'm still alive.

I have two very beautiful 6 yr. old twins boy and girl and never imagined this in all of my dreams. Thank you God for these blessings.

I'm thankful for my husband who though he has his own pers. struggles and discouragement, has stuck by me, works hard within our family, willing to spend much time with our kids and is seeking improvement in disciplines and building character most of the time. Way to go honey!

I'm thankful that I finally live somewhere safe, a place I can call home. Our home.

I'm thankful I'm not alone in this PTSD sh#* and that there is a way through it.

And, I'm thankful God didn't forget me even though I've, at times, forgotten him in my life.

AMEN SISTERS!! Bornjoyful, yes, I do need to do more research since I plan on having the next at home. We'll see if my confidence holds up after every person around tells me I'm crazy, like I don't hear that enough! Doctors are treated with god-like quality here and since I've worked with them, I've found that they are human, with flaws, just like everyone else. Healthsystem is really screwed up. Boy are we on a tangent...

Ok, I'm thankful to be a woman! Thank you for the sun that shone today.

Thank you God for helping me find this forum. Thank you for allowing me to have a pretty good day. Thank you for allowing me to LIVE and guiding me in this struggle. And thank you most of all for my family who without them I do not know where I would be.
