I think the key piece that is being overlooked is that workers comp is making their recommendation based on single incididence adult trauma. As such, the direction they are pushing you in is 1000% valid. You have childhood trauma as well which mucks everything up, and means that “change your thought” CBT won’t necessarily be the best approach for you. Convincing workers comp that another approach may be better isn’t going to be easy, especially since you can’t use the excuse that you have pre-existing childhood trauma.
