Some of the results are reason to be proud thouh. Native American women, African Amdrican women, an openly gay man, muslim women - all successful candidates. High 5 US. That’s super cool:)

^^This is so true and it motivated a lot of people to register and go and vote. So...that's democracy at work. If 'little' people are motivated to stand up in their town square's and throw their point of view into the debate - the debate remains robust.

Also I think with all the divisive ideas about T and his government something really important is not added to the mix... that is that the election of T and now the clipping of his wings in the mid-terms demonstrates a healthy democracy at work. Regardless of what political persuasion you are - the People voted.

Now for the sake of it's own citizens and a lot of the free world - we must hope that both parties get down to the work of governing rather than mud-slinging. Otherwise it will be much worse and all rather pointless.

The new jobs bill Trump just signed is utterly disgusting. It doesn't increase jobs, it gives government grants to companies to hired unpaid interns for 4 years. Now supposedly these unpaid interns will be more hireable via the skills and experience they earned during the internship. However why would the company hire them on full time when they can get a $5mill bonus for hiring another batch of unpaid interns and leaving these people who have gone without income for 4 years in the cold.

Also, who can afford 4 years of internship with out pay?

Internships are part of an educational package, not a guarantee of employment anywhere. Just because a person chooses a field that requires an internship doesn't guarantee that person has made a wise educational/caree choice. There are some crappy lawyers, doctors and other professionals that should not practice in their chosen field. On the other hand, being an exceptional employee with a good work ethic just might get a person hired. Because internships are part of an educational package, the intern might get a second job? Millions of Americas HAVE to get second jobs just to make ends meet. Why can't the intern?

I think that depends on what you mean by "anyone". The family and "friends" are still there. Pretty sure that anyone who might mention that something is a bad idea is gone, or soon will be.

What happens next? Even Trump supporting Republicans are concerned about Mattis leaving and his warnings. He must have reached quite the point of not being able to moderate Trump anymore to quit like this. An unleashed Trump seems like a disaster waiting to happen. I’m not saying we should stay or go, I am very worried that it appears the Petagon found out via Twitter and Turkey is apparently going to go after the Kurds. None of this is really about Syria alone, but Russia, Iran, and Israel. Syria is really a horrific proxy war from hell itself. I have no clue what to do in the Middle East, but this is a mess that just got worse. Not better.

Government shutdown looming, DOW falling, Dems prepping for impeachment (which will likely fail in removing the president)....

I expect Trump will throw caution to the wind and continue to grab unilateral power, or rather the brakes have been taken off in any restraint he had in this regard.

He just banned bump stocks via executive order. It’s reasonable to ban bump stocks, but that should happen by federal law. Not executive order. With the stroke of a pen, he just made it so that 90 days some Americans will be felons if they keep what they have now. Congress should pass laws to do such a thing. Not a unilateral move by an impulsive president.

Then there is all the chaos with the border wall nonsense and the gofundme to raise a billion dollars to pay for it. Uh, that’s not how government should work. We should not have systems set up to just give money over to the government as donations so the government will do whatever the donors want.

So much chaos. So little ethics.
