That first one, you shared though means a great deal to me; More than I imagine anyone could ever understand; I'm likely mistaken here, and people do understand, but I don't always think so.

This quote: "It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not." ~Gide, Andre, ......makes all the sense in the world to me. Sums up well why I took a good many extra beatings from my then step-dad and mom, that I might've escaped had I cared less about the well-being of family relations, reality as opposed to deceit (etc.), proper boundaries, personal integrity and basic common sense morals.

I found it accidently looking for a thread that might discuss daring. I was inspired by some things that have been said to me today that encouraged me more than I thought words could ever do, or have ever done before. The kindness of strangers here.
