I am doing Relief Teaching at a solid good school with good upper management. So whilst it is crazy busy and you are run off your feet for the day, it is not unmanageable.
Today I taught 1 Year 10 English, 1 Year 8 English, and 2 Year 7 English Classes. I also prepared the classes on the run, managed behaviour, completed rolls and paperwork, went from one side of the school campus to the other, did a play ground duty, and set up the work and paperwork for whoever takes over tomorrow. I was crazy busy but I did a really good job of teaching all four of the classes. I engaged with students, got them doing the work, drew ideas out of them, and got them through the day with their ups and downs. I try to give a lot of attention, time and love to my students so they each have a moment with me that is positive. It went really well. I did an excellent job despite multiple Internet and Technology failures, had to change my laptop three times, had to do paper rolls because the system wasn't loaded on my computer. But I got it done and I managed really well.
When I first started here I couldn't be in the same room as another person and remain in my body. This is still a challenge for me but I have improved immensely. I also had an ED (Eating Disorder) but I wasn't aware of it, and so many other things.
So with teaching each day can be highly variable, and I am really proud of myself for getting to this point. Because I have worked so hard to get here. I am not quite up for full time work but I am well on my way.
I did really well at work today.
