Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

The Craving Cure: Identify Your Craving Type to Activate Your Natural Appetite Control, by Julia Ross....still on chapter 1...had to put it down to eat a pint of Cherry Garcia nice cream.

L-M-A-O! Now, that's true self-awareness in action! :)

I stopped by the library yesterday and picked up The Shack, by William Young. It's a bit older, but I heard about it on a television show and it sounded interesting.

I also went to the library's store where they sell older books and magazine, DVDs, CDs, LPs etc.. while I was there.... I was in hog heaven for an hour and I plan to go back during the half off sale next month! :)

The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse
Takes place in the 23rd century... he is a Nobel Prize winner. Was actually surprised and pleased to find the book's author was also Steppenwolf & Siddhartha. Endeavoring to read the full body of his work.

Too late to add in edit but a good synopsis of why I am interested though was hooked particularly with Siddhartha.

I really love this vid. Lots of things in there. Whole life changing lots within the lens of reasonably recent fictional works. Just stuff I like and ponder. Without particularly "subscribing"... but then again, it could be the next 1984. Who knows?

Anyone else experience this?
I did. I read so many books, since I don't watch TV, and I was really sad that I couldn't read. Then I got a large print edition of a book by mistake, and realized I needed glasses! Once I had the glasses, I could read again!

I haven't been here for awhile. Too busy, anxious, etc. I am reading the Maise Dobbs series of books by Jacqueline Windspear. I have several and the rest I'm getting from the library. Also a bit far fetched, a young woman in the 1910s opens a private investigation business after having been a nurse in WWI. The last book in the series so far in set in 1942. I enjoy historical fiction, and I do love the series, no matter how light it is. I'm listening to If, Then which is an interesting fiction novel. I'm reading Wicca and The Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. Also lots of articles online.

I have such a hard time reading. I'm halfway through about 6 books; I get so far and I can't finish. The one I bought most recently that is really good and I want to finish is by Tim Desmond: How to Stay Human in a F*cked-Up World.

Very good so far.

How We Became Human, Joy Harjo
What the Living Do, Marie Howe

These are poetry collections so I am re turning to, dipping in and out of

Also reading play Fix Up by Kwame Kwei Armah

It takes me ages to read anything. I used to be able to gobble up books. Now it takes days to chew a sentence. Anyone else experience this?

Yes! I used to read at least a book a week and now I can't finish just one. I can't figure out why except I have a very hard time focusing and staying interested long enough to read till the end.
