Ask a foreigner

Lol @Friday

But that's never going to be good for someone who's never had it before :D

Oh defo not :D That time I opened my brothers packed lunch? He'd made the sandwiches himself (he woulda been 5) and there was thick thick marmite in em, and had escaped out and coated the inside of the packed lunch box. It was like a horror story

Marathon Bar and they stopped selling it here in the 80's. It's called the Curly Wirley now.

I gre up on Marathon bars! And Curly Wurleys! I swear they made them shorter in later years!

Isn't that just a Snickers bar though

Yes, in the UK at least, marathon & snickers are the same. I was so annoyed when they changed the name to snickers.

t was just chocolate covered braided caramel. About 10 inches long.

Yep, that's what we call Curley Wurley. Is it different in the rest of Europe?

I've not had a creme egg in years, didn't know about the recipe change.

Searching Amazon.co.uk I can get Vegemite, and velveeta cheese (expensive!), but not American cheese or baloney

Vegemite is King!!

New Zealanders say chups instead of chips  So it's fish n chups??

Sheep and strange things you do to them. lol...

If NZ is soo great why are you all over here? :hilarious:

Everything is soo expensive there - why?? Because you never thought of anything yourself, don't have any factories and must import all of your talent, ideas and stuff...

I quite like it if it's spread really thin on toast.

^Only way to have it. Great joke to do to someone... give em a spoonful and run!

Vegemite, it's similar isn't it? In flavour I mean?

^No... it's no similar. Well it's quite brown but taste is completely different. Marmite is just yukky!

they can't be that different from one another.

^But they are!

Thin is key! I

Yes.. in either Marmite or Vegemite - very sparing indeed. Like wave it over the top light.

Vegemite can be put into casseroles, stews and other stuff.. Poor man's gravy.

I'm out now.

Do Australians put beets on their burgers?

^Do you mean beetroot. The purple salad veg?

If so, some and I do mean only some put a slice on it hamburgers. Not the fastfood crap super franchise places though or only in some versions of their burgers.

If you go to a traditional hamburger joint and ask for a hamburger with the lot you should get it.

If you didn't it would be considered highway robbery!

Why do USA drivers drive on the wrong side of the road? lol...
To give us legal justification in running over the British.

True fact

To be fair, the British are at fault for the weird way we eat. The whole “Illegal to hold a knife in one’s hand unless cutting meat & is punishable by being shot” = the fork and knife crossover thing we do.

Same era.

Well cars that have the steering wheel on the right side of the car drive on the left side of the road?? And vice versa unless you have a permit to drive a car that isn't.

Mostly any other country that was a British empire colony drive on the left.

Are you serious - a motor car maker decided? That's amazing.

I can never remember which side forks and knives go on... I'm ambidextrous and I do as I please. :)
