Broken to Unbreakable PTSD Recovery

Less than a year ago, I came across an ad for an online program that promised full recovery from PTSD. I watch the webinar, and I emotionally bought in to all the empty promises. Then I bought the course for $1997. I just want help for my daughter! The course creator, Kayleen Wright, markets it like a TV evangelist would! All the promises if you give her your money!

The course can be summed up as " think positive and hire a good therapist licensed in EMDR and EFT." Yep, that's pretty much it!

My daughter experienced triggers within the videos. I decided that I would watch them and then redeliver the content to my daughter. It was difficult, but I was determined to make it work. Another issue that we had, and that I communicated with Kayleen Wright through email, is that my daughter has a slightly lower than average intelligence. They didn't care. We were really struggling with the delivery of the program.

When I finally had enough of it, as it simply was not working, I requested a refund. I was told that I did not qualify for a refund because I had passed the 14-Day Action-Backed Guarantee. And even if I had been within the 14 days, we did not take advantage of the 1-1 live coaching call.

The bottom line is that this $1997 program has flimsy content and empty promises. And, it is hurting people. The only positive review that I can find is a video of someone name Jen that Kayleen has posted. Any comment on their Facebook page that isn't in total alignment with the "woohoo" approach is deleted.

I have filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission. They are looking for information from others who have purchased the program. Once more reports are received, they can begin an investigation. www.ftc.gov

Oh, I only came across the one thread and it was closed. I really want to see some reports filed with the Federal Trade Commission so that they can conduct their investigation. So far, it's sounds as though my report is the first that they have received. I filed it yesterday. Thanks.

Second, if you filed something yesterday, that's barely enough time to log with systems as a complaint received.

Much less be reviewed by human personnel.

And that fast it totally won't make it on the desk of the appropriate, able & charged to handle such reports, people.

Thirdly, format.
Every complaint to anybody just doesn't have the same handling priority. You need to phrase things correctly for further review.

Four... priority.

I'm fairly sure no further rapid alarm bells from concerned citizens are needed.

And if you read the closed thread properly, you would have also read the conclusion about that program.

It AFAIK advertises itself properly.

Yesterday, I filed my complaint on the phone to a live person with the Federal Trade Commission. She entered all of the information that I gave her into their computer system while I was on the phone with her. She told me that my file was the first one reported. She knew this because their computer system automatically cross-references the information and identifying factors that are presented, such as both operating names of company the company, the individual names of the people running the company, theirr phone number and email address, etc.

The Federal Trade Commission does not monitor complaints about companies made on forums or any other sites. One must contact the Federal Trade Commission directly to file a complaint. Federal Trade Commission cannot act on one single complaint, as this could simply be someone having a bad day and wanting to cause problems. Multiple files must be received documenting fraudulent or unethical practices in order for an investigation to be conducted. That is why I am encouraging anyone who has purchased the course and is not satisfied with it to contact the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov

I think it’s good that you posted here to warn other people. The more that people speak out against programs like this that make empty promises, the better.

Sadly, it seems like the program is set up so that nobody ever gets a refund, or at least that is their goal. I laugh at this 14 day guaranteed refund BS because most people aren’t going to feel all that much better in just 14 days of treatment. The guarantee of having PTSD cured is just bullshit. Yes, many do make a full recovery but there is no one treatment that fixes everyone. This woman just preys on people who are desperate to get better.

Edit. I wonder if Oprah, Ed Sheeran, etc know that their pictures are used on that site?

All of which is really very clearly spelled out on the website.

I'm sorry you had to find this out the hard way - but PTSD is a medical diagnosis, and generally will need treatment in some form, not coaching.

Whether or not the program would meet the FTC's threshold for fraudulent or unethical - no clue. There are lots of scams out there, that prey on individuals who are afraid, or desperate, or looking for guidance. It's a shitty thing, and I'm sorry for how it impacts people.

But if you're looking to aggressively promote some kind of FTC brigade...this site is not the right place for that.

As others have pointed out, it's a life coaching platform. For some, that's a great support. But it's most definitely not treatment. The owner is very clear about that in their disclaimer.

The FTC accepts complaints related to many topics, including:

•National Do Not Call Registry violations

•Computers, the internet and online privacy

•Telemarketing scams

•Credit scams

•Immigration services

•Sweepstakes, lotteries, and prizes

•Business opportunities and work-at-home schemes

•Health and weight loss products

•Debt collection, credit reports, and financial matters

Submit a Consumer Complaint to the FTC

Since they are clear about their practices and training online, and they are clear about their refund policy, the FTC is not going to do jack all cause what they are doing, as shitty of a program it maybe, is not illegal. If MLMs can go on without being shut down (LuluRo anyone) then they won't give 2 shits about this company who is clear all over their site.

The FTC is busy with the phone calls pretending to be Microsoft to gain access to your PC to steal all of your banking info and crap like that. Those type of calls have stepped up their game. They are not going to look twice at a company that has clarity all over their site.

Sorry to be blunt and harsh. You can make a comment on their BBB page. The BBB gets with the business to try to resolve the complaint.

It's straight up BS. Sickens me because people really are truly suffering and commiting suicide. I wonder if she truly had PTSD. It was too perfect. No emotion.

I am wondering, with years and years of doctors, therapists, medications, hospital stays and current help, no educated mental health professional knows this information? Well I guess apparently not if I continue to suffer. I know I can go to my therapist and bring this up. Also, if it works so good, why wouldn't our professionals get on it. Then we can have either paid programs or insurance covered programs. I would be so reluctant for someone battling cptsd from 15 years to someone battling for 45 years.

I too watched the 2 1/2 hr presntation but b y the end she has contradicted herself many times. I wrote querying that in the chatbox. No reply. Now for those of us with c-ptsd I dont believe she ever had it. The symptoms don't match. She goes on and on as if flashbacks are the only problem. She does not recognise the several types of PTSD. And I dont believe Brad had PTSD from helping her with her supposed PTSD. I do believe its possible to recover but I don't have the answers. I think this is an unashamed money grab. There are only 3 testimonials and those from people who havent completed her course. Avoid it likethe plague

I totally am skeptical myself. I doubted Brad getting PTSD just from hers. My CPTSD, of traumatic stressful events, effects my whole being. Flashbacks are hardly the issues.

After watching the 2.5 hour video, listening, taking notes, I started thinking when is she going to drop the bomb. What would I be willing to spend? Since watching on my laptop, I grabbed my phone to review, which I should have done before watching the entire video. That's how I found all of you. Plus your reviews. Another bonus was that there were alternative workbooks from other sources, information seeming free compared to the cost of the program. Plus someone had mentioned the only good thing was hearing Jennifer's testimony. In our world, you cannot trust anything(lol, there's my CPTSD showing) she was most likely a paid actress. Along with many testimonials and reviews, anything selling out there, can be questionable. Companies are paid to write reviews. I know this first hand from a contractor on the Houzz app. He was offered this service for a price. Thankfully he refused. We believe if it has good reviews it must be good. It's awesome that there are also these pages, where negative reviews will be honest reviews. One way or another we have been ripped off, lead to believe something other then what we/they received. Most people review when there is an injustice done. Thank you everyone.
