I was in the Middle East when the Arab Spring happened and thought that was pretty crazy, but everyone here has literally gone nuts now.
I am not worried about the virus itself tbh. Everything else is so overwhelming though and making me feel super sick right now.

We have been slammed with calls all day.

Keep in mind, again, if you are working from home that you may need more internet speed. Especially if you and/or your kids are schooling from home as well.

I'm dealing okay with the virus threat, but all the restrictions on what you can do and all the unknowns of what will happen forward are very stressful.[...]
I do work at home and I am an introvert, but I am still human. And when I had sprained ankle and had to spend weeks mostly at home mostly sitting or laying down it was very claustrophobic so this situation is making me feel on edge.

Yeah, this has me worried the most as well. I spent quite some time and effort last year to get myself out of increasing isolation, spend more time at the office instead of working from home, start volunteering to build social contacts.... I basically spent weeks at home a couple years ago when we only had one car and I didn’t want to spend 4 hrs in traffic commuting back and forth between our two work places all the time... it got really claustrophobic and lonely at home real fast... and I identify as an introvert myself, but I DO NEED some occasional, regular human interactions... I’m a human being and virtual contact can supplement only so much

Can the government not help. Maybe subsidize or give money/relief to those out of work? This is a world wide emergency. I mean, f*ck!

I feel lucky to not be out of work or I'd be homeless if not paid.

ETA3: Also, traffic this morning was like a weekend. Many people in Orlando are home and not on the roads.

UK Gov announced all non essential contact must stop now. People to work at home if possible and not attend pubs clubs theatres etc.

Anyone living in a household with someone who has a cough or temperature to isolate for 14 days.

I welcome the moves though I still think they are not doing enough.

I have a new persistent cough and Mr should stay home. He has reacted to the news by becoming drunk and aggressive. Which is so admirable.

I don't think he is going to follow any recommendations. Hate his lack of regard for others.

Can the government not help.

They are helping. They will not be able to make everyone whole. They can only print so much money before it’s worthless and then of no good. There will be losses. There is no way society can simply has most of its people not work for two months and nothing gets lost. There will also be plenty of people overcoming and society bouncing back. Life is going to be harder and messier than usual for awhile. It will get better. I keep reminding myself of this.

Hi everyone, I'd been doing really well coping with a ton of life changes and getting into a new job before this pandemic. I was absent from here for a long time, but since all the schools are closed in the state where I live for two weeks at least, I'll probably be frequenting here more for support. I haven't been handling this well at all.

NPR keeps posting REALLY faulty articles... I seriously expect better quality control from them of all news outlets. For example in this article, they state that 700 people have died in Germany - it’s been 13 as of today. They state Canada had 68 deaths - they had four (all in the same nursing home)!

This is gravely negligent as it can even further exacerbate panic and is just plain unacceptable. It’s borderline fear mongering, actually.

I’m trying to get my info from reputable and rather unbiased sources and I simply don’t have the time to fact check each and every statement regarding this these days - guess I’ll have to take NPR off the list for a while.

I just cut my own hair because of Covid-19 and you can probably tell but I don't care. I watched a bunch of videos about how to ensure it's straight and all. One did a good job with 8 pony tails total (I believe). I couldn't do that. Looking at the fact that you can plainly see that I am balding, badly, at age 38, triggered the f*ck out of me so I just took it all in one hand, tried to keep my hand as straight as possible and just hacked it off. I can't tell if it's straight or if you can tell but you know what? I don't give a f*ck!

I badly need a wig but they are so f*cking expensive.

This probably belongs in my diary. Sorry. But I only did it cause of this f*cking Covid-19. I already struggle badly with getting haricuts. Even with a service dog, it is so f*cking hard to let someone touch me from behind. I am at high risk for Covid-19 due to my health, I don't know if any hair places are open anyway so just said "f*ck it". It's almost freeing to be able to do this myself. Weird, eh?


It's a bit longer then I would normally want it cut but not bad, eh?

It took me 15 mins to get home from work. It normally takes 30 to 45 mins on a week day. I'd say at least 75% to 80% less cars on the road then normal. Our economy is going to plummet and crash if someone doesn't step in to get businesses back up and working. I feel lucky that I am not out of work though or forced to work from home. I am a lucky few, it seems.
