I really hope it ends soon. But there are times the whole world went through things no one could stop despite thousands and even millions trying to make it stop. Famines, plagues, wars... Part of me keeps thinking this is like all the diaries and journals people have taken at the beginning of a war... the shock and struggle as life goes from normal... to very not normal anymore...

Every disaster eventually ends. This too will pass. I pray it is soon.

@osiris - You are not alone. Hang in there. Rooting for you from here in near full lockdown.

@lostforgottensoul - aloe vera:
Break open a leaf, the sap will ooze out.

OR
Decide that you aren't a horticultural specialist, and that you aren't able to safely distinguish what kind of aloe plant you actually have, and buy the right stuff.

There's around 400-500 aloe species. Aloe vera is pretty safe, although the latex can cause diarrhoea if you handle the plant wrong.

Some aloe species have health benefits. Some have no benefits whatsoever. And some are toxic.

Now isn't the time to start messing around with herbal remedies if you don't know what you're doing: Hospitals are under a lot of pressure, and you might just find yourself waiting a long time for medical treatment if you screw things up.

The only thing that I buy that has aloe vera is toilet roll. It's good for my butt!!!.

It is actually very hard to find where I am, along with most cleaning supplies of all types, but we have one of the top per capita covid-19 rates in the nation. Plain old soap is plentiful. All kinds of soap.
Interesting, about the bleach. I've seen it as the only thing left on stripped-bare shelves at a few markets in my area. But yes to the soap!
I have some bleach but not much. Maybe 4 cups max.
From @Deanna's link, above:
...the CDC formula for making a diluted bleach solution: Use 5 tablespoons (1/3 cup) of bleach in one gallon of water or 4 teaspoons of bleach in one quart of water.

LFS, you have maybe four cups of bleach - lets err on the side of caution and say 3 cups. From that, you could make 9 gallons of disinfectant. I'd say you're completely set for bleach for quite a bit. Especially since you also have soap.
Wanted to try the make you own hand sanitizer trick but dont have aloe vera gel. Just the plant. I could see if Walgreens has some, along with more rubbing alcohol. But didn't want to buy more stuff.
Hand sanitizer isn't even as reliable as soap. I'm really not sure why it's at all worth the effort. If you need something to keep your mind busy, consider meal planning. You had a very successful shopping trip, and there's no reason it shouldn't last a good long while, even
They initial interviews show him as defensive for his behavior. It is only after the general public came after him that he exhibited any sense of remorse. He is no kind hearted person. He is selfish at his core and only cared about making a few bucks. Those are crocodile tears.
I think he's selfish the way ANY person who makes their living doing resale is selfish - I honestly believe this has been (appropriately) very eye-opening for the guy. I think his major crime is stupidity and ignorance, with some willful denial.

I'm not defending his actions, more just observing his cluelessness. If I'm reading it right, he's been breaking the law for a while (on the regular), without knowing that it was illegal in his state to buy large quantities and resell at a markup. Good but hard lesson for him: if it seems like it should be against the law...it probably is.
