Holy f*ck! Central Florida has a stay at home order that goes into effect Thurs 11pm and is effect until April 9th. I guess we will see how strict they are with this as I am off of work now until Friday morning.

I very much admire your dedication and work ethic...

But, truly, health preserving recommendations are more than work. Seriously.

Health is more even among the health care workers and the like.

Someone sick can't and shouldn't try to wing it at all cost, and definitely not to endanger others.

I don't exactly have a choice. I can't get the work from home. I cant call in using the flex time. And i cant call in more then 2 days in a row. I dont exactly have a choice here. It is work or not pay rent and bills.

I hear you. I've got work for the rest of the week, is about all. I heard through the grapevine that the state above us will announce 'lockdown' tomorrow and my state will likely follow. I'm sad and pissed. I'm like you.. Have to work to pay the bills and our government is of no help. All, a big bucket of cr%p.

Our Governments are slowly closing down public movement. There is more and more emphasis on law enforcement checking on people who should be in isolation because they've come from o/seas one way or the other recently. It seems that there are quite a few people who don't or won't do it. I expect the penalties will be big when they decide enough about the warnings.

Each State here is determining their own schedule for shutdowns of public or semi-public venues, institutions & gatherings because each State is different & is run by their Premiers.

It's important to remember that here in Australia - despite assertions from some, the PM here does not call all of the shots. The Premier's of each State does. The State's govern themselves or have primacy. Not the federal government. That's how our country works so a little bit of self-education would go a long way to understand why.

The PM may be doing the late night news conferences on what all of the Premiers & health authorities have agreed on. The Premiers are doing their news conferences first thing in the morning.

The most important aspect of this collaboration of politicians and health authorities is that together they are trying very hard to get their messages through. Self isolate, social distance, stay home, flatten the curve. And that it is consistent.

We still have a vertical trend in terms of new infections but the government has attributed almost all of these to contact with newly arrived o/seas contact with infected persons. The authorities are still tracing each infected persons movements to alert people to the fact that they may have had contact with an infected person. So it seems that this is still worthwhile. They are not abandoning these activities so that's a good thing I think.

I do think that each and everyone who came off the cruise ships that were allowed to dock recently in Sydney NSW, really should have known better regarding the necessity to self-isolate. And btw - these had were the 50's & up generation - just to be clear lol :rolleyes: What a monumental stuff up that was. Several thousand possibly contagious passengers just left to their own ideas about what they ought to do. And of course they mostly, it seems decided to take no precautions. :banghead: It appears quite a few are testing positive.

We've had another death here in Australia. So that takes our death toll attributable to covid19 to eight. Again, our latest victim was a passenger who disembarked off a cruise ship some time ago.

We can still have weddings - but five participants only. Bride, Groom, Authorised person to marry ppl, & the two legal witnesses. lol.. That ought to cut down on wedding expenses.

Funerals are limited to ten people.

Here they said you can go out to get gas, get food, walk your dog and those that work at essential businesses can go to work. So as long as everyone is practicing social distancing.

Im alone when I go to work and only with my service dog when I go everywhere else. I distance by nature. But, it sounds like they wont be pulling people over for going to and from work (or the store or to get gas, etc) which is what I was worried about.

I had paused a DVR recorded show and it stopped and our local offical (governor I think) was on advising of that.

^Me too. So, I'm not finding this lockdown as hard as other ppl may be. But I can completely understand why those who are very social would be stunned by this precaution.

I don't know if I have allergies. I am sick again. Ear blocked up, cough, feeling lousy, but no fever. I am going to let my son handle the egg business. It is probably allergies since I get them this time of year.
