How Hyper-vigilance cured me from having the Jehovah’s Witness people from ever coming back.

I will start this off by saying no one died during their visit. I live a half mile off the highway in the woods because my PTSD made it where I did not play well with others prior to being medicated. It seemed like the best thing for me to do was buy property that I self isolated. Being so far off the highway means there are only three types of people that come down my driveway (1 they were invited 2 they are lost or 3 they are up to no good.) That being said the Jehovah’s Witness decided today was the day they wanted to come to my house and try to tell me about their church.

My service dog barked because someone was coming up my driveway. I looked out my window and see two men and a woman step out of a fairly decent car coming up to my door and knock. I didn’t answer the door and assumed they would leave in a couple minutes but they didn’t. About 5 minutes go by and the hyper vigilance wakes up in me so I grab my pistol and two spare magazines and walk out the back door. I walked to the front corner of my house where I would have cover and peeked around the corner with my pistol ready and asked “can I help you?” So immediately after seeing me with the pistol they all three throw their hands up and say “please don’t shoot.” One chimed in “we are here to talk about the Lord.” I replied “well you almost met him.” I said I think it best you leave. They almost ran to get back in their car and left immediately. My guess is they won’t be back.

Before any of you say I was too tough on them know that I was an undercover narcotics and swat officer for far too long. I have very valid reasons for always carrying a weapon. I look at it now and can laugh at it because no one was shot and my guess is they learned a valuable lesson to not just come down a driveway that you can’t see the house from the roadway. I’m sharing because maybe someone else will get a laugh to brighten their day.
Cheers

You might need to bleach and hose off your front porch! Ya know, just take precautions.

Already used a Clorox wipe on the door and stair rails. They were violating the 6 foot rule. ?My parents are still around so don’t want them catching anything with all this junk around. Pretty much have them sheltering in place at their lake house with my kids away from everyone. I’m the only idiot going anywhere but I am a bit OCD about everything being clean.

Hahahahaha! Would have loved to have been a fly on a tree watching that go down. Thanks for the belly laugh and the visual of the holier-than-thou lord peddlers getting a divine intervention of their own.

They were 3&1/2 pounds of pressure on the trigger away from getting to meet the lord. My guess is they took the rest of the afternoon off from spreading the good word. ?

Why are they out now? That group won't be back lol.
The day we were told essential personnel only we had a door to door salesman. Told him are you fking kidding me.

Who knows? I was surprised I have been here 10 years and this is the first time they have decided to come by that I have noticed. You can bet my address will have a DO NOT go here label attached to their recruitment drive list.
