thats a great guide to bad science, thanks. There is a lot of good in understanding fallacious arguments in this time also. The two combined are a good way to make a living in talk radio, or in politics, or both.

this virus started in China, therefore it is a Chinese disease. they had conflicting reports of how bad it was, therefore all the reports are in question. on and on, thats the way the world goes round.

Curious - do people need a referral from their PCP, or to pass a screening before testing? (ie, do they need to be symptomatic?)

I'm not sure about having a referral from their doctor. I believe they check temperatures before proceeding to testing. Most if not all doctors are advising patients to stay at home unless they are having trouble with their breathing.

Most places are checking temperatures before allowing you to go to work.

The makeshift (state of the art) hospitals are for low-income and people without health insurance.

Everyone is mad because the Governor has also cancelled fishing and boating season. A huge pastime here. Especially fishing.

They started one in Daytona, Fl. Free, no need to be symptomatic. Wont get turned away. No need for a doctor referal.

Saw it on the news i believe yesterday or the day before. Not sure if still open tho. Testing sites in Florida are coming and going. At least Centeral Florida area.

ETA: The one in The Villages, Fl closed. It was also test anyone, free, no symptoms needed, no doctor referral needed and they closed due to tests no longer being available.

The Villages is a retirement living place. They are like their own town with their own bank, own police department, etc. But its gated and stuff.

But if you don't live in a big city with a high rate of infection, and don't know anyone who's personally had the virus (or had it yourself), I can see how you might think it's fake, especially if you also tend to think the news media is a liberal sham.

Hubby and I were talking about this last night. The whole covid thing has had very little impact on us. We don't know anyone who has it, he is still working, and all that has changed for me is my doctors appointments are on line. Oh - and the great TP shortage of 2020 of course :laugh:. So ya - I can see why the people who belive in conspiracies would think it was fake news.

Yep. I have a friend in the ICU who’s still “presumed” because even our hospitals don’t have enough tests for patients.

There were drive thru test sites for something like a minute and a half, and all that did was increase infection rates as people are stupid ignorant // didn’t understand that testing negative didn’t mean they “couldn’t” get it and went out socializing. :banghead: Then got sick. And are now “presumed” positive, because there aren’t tests to confirm. :facepalm:

My neighbors are partying. Yet again. Using shared spaces like they own it! This is an apartment complex. They have a screened in porch they can use but nooo! They have to use the shared areas, clog it up so that other neighbors have no way around but to walk within 6 feet of them. This is riduclous. Easter is no excuse to ignore the social distancing order. When are these neighbors gonna take this seriously?

The testing at UCF is still having to be screened and referred by a primary care. Why screen people for tests? Wouldnt you want to test everyone to find the ones being an asymptomatic carrier? Im asking cause I honestly dont know.
