that is a very interesting thought. I can't explain why but that makes sense with some aspects of my trauma.I just had a thought - is it possible that you are annoyed by attention seeking people in general and not by loud sounds per se?
:) Draw attention = Threat to life reflex, or something maybe more nuanced?
((Even tho feeling threatened on life by just glimpses or a mere chance of being spotted, can be shaded a lot on its own.
Just wondering if it's that trigger/stressor, or more tangled by something else.))
That makes perfect sense to me.I was abused over many years. The majority of my abuse was focused around gatherings. The louder the gathering the easier my abuser had it. I was a child and the adults that should have been protecting me were busy being loud and obnoxious, sometimes in the next room. Maybe this isn't the connection but it is an interesting thought. I know that loud groups of people trigger me but never made the connection of a single person. Seems obvious now
Yup, getcha.
So loud = cover for abuse?
You could turn that on its ear, now... Remind yourself of the ways loud is either just its own thing, nothing follows... or something hiding you FROM harm, until it can be neutralized.
Aka where loud = protection.
Because over all that noise, you're hard to spot / find. Much less give people a chance for hurting you.
