Sorry for not replying--the thread fell off my notices for some reason. What science do you work in? You went back to school after being an English major to do that, right?
In college, I got a double major in English lit and in physics. There are not so many of those out there! I didn't think I had the great American novel in me, and I like doing things with my hands, so I went on to get a graduate degree in physics. I've been working in that field for three decades now. Around 2009, I got a bit itchy about doing something different, so I went back to school to get a master's degree in biotechnology. Nowadays, I do physics & physical chemistry in support of biopharmaceuticals. I still love literature, though! I've been in the same book club since 1993 and enjoy teaching my 17 year old daughter about great books. We were just chatting about Pride and Prejudice yesterday.
