Is your PTSD Cup size changing?

Life facts-everyone is gonna die, right? We can die afraid and stuck, afraid to do anything (and with PTSD we are primed for that scenario) or we can die leading a cautious life with purpose.

Really appreciated your time as well as effort outlining positive things to do! I did giggle over your item of fixing a toilet for an old person! I thought,” How did Truthseeker know such things?” Certainly can’t deny many a Senior conversation led to stories of falling in. So I was impressed over that entry 😂.

Your words really lifted me today. Thankyou for those thoughts. You seem like an inspirational powerhouse! Take care.

Thank you for your kind words....never thought of myself as an inspirational powerhouse. (Giggle) Got started late doing my own trauma work.....in my 60s now. Starting late on my own issues has made me realize that time is short. So I try to live the best I can on any day.....and be able to remember good things.....positive memories......still there are days it can be hard and I feel helpless-but I have a daily list and have to get out of bed and do something, so I can feel good about moving forward.....doing something, and when I kinda do the things on the list.....I don't tend to sink as far in potty thoughts (that's what I call them.....shitty thinking). But this covid thing has brought to light that there are many fools out there, running around w/o masks, not watching their distance, not caring about passing it on to others or even being courteous.....and I don't want to be one of those people. The toilet? I moved into a nice house....a few years back....where both toilets had issues. Youtube is my friend! I have learned how to fix and do so many things since moving here. I never watched youtube for any reason......but now, I'm all about instructional videos! They help me to feel independent! When I can't fix something, I will ask for help.....(only after viewing youtube!)

Accept it....Covid is here to stay.....How can you willingly adapt to keep you and others safe? Also, thinking that negatively isn't doing you any good...just hurting yourself.....preventing you from living the best live in the situation you can
Thank you, I needed to hear that. My work has been pretty non-existent to where I've gained 15 lbs. I was exercising before Covid and I just quit. So, tomorrow ( or the new year) was going to change but I had a marker in my head for Jan 1st as start date. Never once thought about Covid being here to stay.. So thank you and Happy New Year! 😃

I'm doing a similar thing.....coming off all the sugar first......and caffeine, and then in a couple of weeks will be starting the official change of eating habits. I'm right there with the new years.....diet-mine is getting rid of the cokes.

I'm doing that tomorrow. January 2nd, not the 1st like I originally planned. I won't cut out the ( diet cokes) will just drink more water.( I need some caffeine and I don't drink coffee) But my official start date is tomorrow. Today I'm grumbling about tomorrow ( lol) I've got work for the next few days which is nice and will get me in a different mind frame of just funk! I weighed this morning and I've officially gained 12 lbs but looks like 50 in the mirror. Must be stress weight.

I have about 20 lbs to loose. My husband likes the meat and potatoes.....about to change. Its not good for me and its not good for him.
If I do a Premier Protein shake for breakfast (and I'm not much on breakfast), with a 1/2 c of milk, almost like having chocolate milk with only 160 calories, no carbs and 30 grams protein and a bunch of vitamins for breakfast. Helps with the change-over from more sugary-carbs to less but leaves more calories for a more varied diet. Good luck on your new years slim-down!

@brat17 ... the PTSD Cup size was not intended to body shame anyone😂 but it is good to speak of diets to help regulate stress and health. So thanks for placing in great thoughts!

I did not hit the like button only because I was wondering... do you really need to loose 20 pounds or are you being too hard on yourself? Is your husband onboard because sometimes they need more carbs than we do per charts? signing off- as interested 😁

@TruthSeeker
I use to love protein shakes! Bully for you. A lot of shakes have soy protein and my body no longer tolerates soy. So I use egg whites (give my dog the yolk) as I watch my salt, soy intake as well as bad cholesterol. Mostly I eat steel cut oatmeal with various fruit for breakfast and take a multivitamin three times a week. Fiber daily through unshelled/ unsalted peanuts (increases good cholesterol) plus air popcorn with a cap of olive oil once popped.

Do you know my health care worker just taught me about the salt in nonfat milk? 🤨 I have to watch everything for intake diet control. But the positive side is that I take a lot less medicine at this time and my weight is regulated somewhat.

When I am not in the throws of symptoms I exercise with my dog. Just moved so unpacking is wearing me out. But will get a routine going again soon. Do either of you exercise? No judgment :just asking.

Recovery4Me-thank you for your comment. I hope it did not cause any body shaming. Yes, I really do need to loose this. I have gained a lot of weight in the past 3 yrs and belly is bigger than recommended. In part because I dont get a lot of exercise too. My husband is continually gaining as well. We have not been doing our best...or even attempting during the entire covid. Covid has filled my stress cup, one little comfort we have used is food. Comfort food. Will be happy for some warm and get dogs out for a walk.

@brat17 Good to hear that you are being health conscience about your weight and not trying to be old world model thin.😀 And no, I was joking about the Cup Size getting bigger and am relieved you didn’t take it subconsciously as a cry to diet.😂 Hard for me to carry off jokes in writing.

Will your insurance pay for an nutritionist? Sometimes if the general practitioner is on board with you loosing weight for health reasons the referral is given. I have in part, state funded insurance so for me the cost is free. I go every couple of years after a blood work up to adjust my food regimen. Some concepts stay the same but science/medicine is moving forward and I often learn something new.- not that I always listen 😜.
