Well, I can't read his mind. Last time he came over and threatened was a couple months ago minimum tho

and police got involved, so now he just glares at me and walks by my house once a day staring into it. so hopefully that means he's afraid of what police will do and is making a show of it. he's friends and family with people who used me as a child so i imagine I'm just tired of feeling vaguely unsafe. I have not been happy since moving back to my mother's.
I don't even like living here, can't wait to move. but i mean, i made a police report and he was warned that two more and he'd spend time in jail even if he wasn't guilty. so he's the first suspect if i go missing.
although, i hope he'd just stick to a quick kill, cuz that's most polite lol -- but he's probably too much of a coward without chaos to cover him up (i.e., another tornado or something)
so in other words, probably a lower proportion of acting on it and more being a bad neighbor. this is stupid lol
edit to add: im just gonna get some sleep. it should storm soon so that'll be relaxing <3
That’s vexing… If he were reliably violent, or reliably a braggart, it would be easier to takes steps that don’t impact you & your life much at all. But random-reward (or punishment) causes the HIGHEST degree of focus, in humans. So your hackles are going to be up, on an instinctual level, for some time to come… as he’s proven himself intermittently violent.
PERSONALLY, I’d take to keeping lighters (or a couple rolls of quarters) in my pockets (they harden a fist to steel / make hits count), & keep bear mace in my boot, &
probably be armed (pistol, in my small back, with a spare clip in my bra… as I’m reeeeeally not keen on knife fights, because that means I’m that close to them, and I prefer to hit hard/fast and back the f*ck up… your feet are your best friends in a fight). Bear mace shoots 20 feet, which is why I prefer it (that, and it’s both legal AND a helluva lot stronger than people-pepper-spray), & more than likely at least one or two phones on me. So I’m contact ready, even if 99-100% of the time? Pfft. No need. Like a spare tire in the trunk. Useful when needed, mostly forgotten about the rest of the time.
IN my home, I tend to sleep with a shotgun loaded with rock salt, when I’m wary of intruders. Rock salt is one of those things that will take off a limb or a head upclose, but just sting like the devil at a distance. But I live in the city, so I don’t want a stray round to kill one of my neighbors; out in the country I prefer something more a bit more penetrating, preferably with a 3 round burst. (My house was broken into 2-3 times a week for a couple years. I NEVER actually fired my shotgun. The sound it makes racking it? Was enough to send people running, each and every single darn time. I DID crunch someone’s ribs with a maglite before I started sleeping armed. Sadly, I do not know if their life is on my conscience. Broken ribs shattered into the lungs? Are often deadly. And a slow death. I HOPE they sought medical treatment, but I never checked with local hospitals. Sadly, because my ex published my address on kink-rape-me-sites. Amongst others. So the person was “probably” just trying to play. I don’t play. Not that way. But I also reeeeeally dislike killing people. So most of the ways I fight are to disable and escape. Sometimes, though, needs must).
Similarly IN MY HOME I keep half a dozen exit plans easily to mind/access. Most people? Believe in doors. f*ck doors. Use a window. Or a flimsy wall. And? Know where to run TO, that’s out of sight of onlookers. Tricksy? Is best. Don’t do what others expect. And they won’t catch you.
So, Cha.

- Useful nick-nacks about my person
- Means to enlist aid
- Exit strategy
My preferred methods will probably differ from yours, the TRICK is to find your own preferred ways. What makes YOU feel secure, capable, & ready? Safe… I don’t really believe in. As it’s too dependent on outside forces. CAPABLE, on the other hand, is a veeeery achievable goal.
