Our Pets

That's a big baby.

Oh, that's quite a conflict. :( Think they would get along with your dog okay?
Well, the idea is that I want to get a substantial plot of land/live in a rural area (not an apartment complex) when I take them, because they're indoor/outdoor cats. Annie would just love them. They would probably evade her and occasionally attack her for a couple of weeks (she doesn't mind when cats beat her up; she loves them so dearly, just to look at them). But she is not very threatening, they can easily bully her without her caring a mite, and they are way faster and smarter than she is (though I love her much!).

So, I'm hoping/thinking it will go okay? We'll have to do a test run of some sort.

Yeah, sounds like a typical dog-cat relationship and if your dog is cool with that, I'm sure your cats will be, too! How soon are you planning on getting some land?

Early next year, possibly. Probably? Dear god, hopefully.

Here is Annie trying and failing to contain her sleepy floppiness within her suitcase. The pictures are a little meh in quality because I didn't want to wake her. If you cannot tell, the beige and pink is her suitcase.

Annie and I met a woman last night who is also a sufferer and has had at least three service dogs. She is going to help me get Annie going on down the service animal path.

The crazy thing? And this is not to minimize the requirements needed to lawfully have a service animal. But you cannot be asked for proof of registration by any business owner when entering a facility with your animal. So, technically, I could walk into a store with Annie right now and just say that she is a service animal, and it would be unlawful to demand documentation/proof/registration/ID. Anyway, service animals in training have the same accessibility rights as service animals, so... the above IS lawful, since owner-training is not against the rules.

BEAUTIFUL dogs, Stacie! I LOVE German shepherds, by far my favorite breed as they have been all my life. When I finally settle down somewhere with a yard... and a yearly salary... I will be adopting a German shepherd puppy. Thankfully for Annie, the chances of me "settling down" in her lifetime and getting a new puppy are slim. But someday I will certainly have another one of these majestic and astute animals. (I love Annie. I would not call her majestic and astute, though :P)

Thank you MissAntiSunshine, or is it Miss Sunshine formally ;)
And you really can thank Annie that you won't be getting a puppy anytime soon. My youngest Shepherd is 2 and he JUST got out of the longest puppyhood ever!

I have a wonderful and kinda nuts, 5 year old rescue German shepherd. She was abused and is very fearful but also very loving and extremely well behaved. She is awesome! :)

Two weeks ago my son and I welcomed an 8 week old corgi pup into our home! talk about flashbacks to bringing baby home! Yeeowza! 8 week old puppies are a lot of work! every day it gets easier though and I love her more. :inlove:

Silk, your puppy is adorable. I love corgis, as does Annie (her boyfriend is a black corgi mix :D). Puppies are such a handful but such joys. I love how they're still figuring out body coordination. There is a pitbull puppy I see regularly who will be a beast to behold in a year, but for now she is clumsy and completely unsure of what she's doing with those giant paws and whipping tail.

:inlove:
