I don't know where your people got that mentality about Australia... not exactly what I see as a male here. Women are treated extremely equal here actually... not sure why that would be noted in another country..

Please don't be offended we also had to learn about Japanese culture and Middle Eastern countries that we worked with. The Japanese and Saudi Arabians flatly refused to do have women executives come to their country and stated it very clearly. That was in the nineties but my female friends who worked with the men (on the Australia project) liked them very much.

Please don't be offended! I hit my head recently and probably should have articulated the matter differently. I did get a chuckle about "your people". OMG, when I travel to Europe and other countries, many people think that we are all fat, pig-headed, wasteful, ignorant and arrogant. That would be pretty correct as far as I am concerned. There is a website about Walmart (one of the biggest stores in the U.S) If you want a really good laugh, they take pictures of Americans shopping at Walmart. If it wasn't so true, it wouldn't be so hysterically funny! Now I'm probably insulting the Americans??? :sneaky: It's so funny! I hope you look at that website. Now, everytime I shop at Walmart, I put on my Chanel clothes and my makeup so I don't end up on that site!!!

OMG! I worked with a man from Japan and every time I walked by him I would say "HI!" and he would look very pleased and say "Hi!" back to me. I finally found out that "HI" means yes in Japanese so this man sees the long legged blonde smile at him and say HI and thinks that I want to have to have sex with him or something??? :eek: I laughed so hard when I found out. I then greeted him with "Good Morning!!!"

we (women) had to take a class on how not to offend men in Australia because Australia's culture (so they said) was very male dominated and women were to be very submissive.

Actually, society worked quite well when women were submissive. I took a class in college how women's liberation destroyed family. But unfortunately, women can be abused if they have no rights so it had to change. If only all men were kind and respectful of their wives. I hear horror stories about women in third world countries. Being submissive and being abused are two different things.

Respect really is the key Gloria regardless of country, race etc.

Sadly my late husband did not respect me one little bit. But that isn't uncommon with an addict. Most addicts are very selfish people that only think of themselves and using others to feed their addiction, ego etc.

There are a lot of women who are abusing men. Some physical, but more often very emotionally abusive. As women, we know how damaging emotional abuse is. I think it is very important as a woman who has been abused to realize the potential within ourselves to be abusive to others, without that awareness, and often outside help, it may come out on partners or children. I think if women stopped arguing with one another, they would already be running the world. Its the only thing stopping females takeover of the world. Men dominate in areas because they just get on with it, regardless of quarrels or such, they still come together to achieve the end result and put personal indifferences aside. Women won't... they will hold onto it until they die using it against the other.

Both sexes still have a lot to learn from one another and adopt within them... though genetics fight both sexes constantly.
