The Midwest US Support Group is planning to meet in the chatroom on Wednesday nights at 7pm Central time. If you're interested in joining the group and live in the midwest US, please feel free to PM Clairbear226. Our goal is to plan on getting together in person periodically, as well as continue to provide support online.

I am in Bell Choir practice on Weds. evenings. Wish I could attend the chat meets but I will check to see if anyone still there when I get home! And, ohhhhhh, you are an hour behind me. Hope to be there at the tail end anyway!

This idea evolved from couple of things.

1. None of us in the Midwest, particularly Chicago, could find a single PTSD support group--astounding, but TRUE!

2. Some of us wanting to attend other activities like the Albert Park Walk, etc., but were prevented by distance, money and time. Chicago to Melbourne for the afternoon wasn't working out for us.

So, we created our own support group through the PTSD forum. It is not an exclusive club, but we want to meet in person at some point.

Gotcha. I'm in the D/FW area and I can't find a support group either - in a place of 4 million people! I can't make the commute to Chicago though - but glad you're doing it.

I know a couple of great people who are in the Houston area that are on the forum. I would encourage you to form a Texas support group like our Midwest group. If you would like their information, let me know. If you need help setting it up, Clairebear226 can help.

Sorry, just finally made my way back here. I'm in Minneapolis but grew up in Madison, WI and lived in various other areas on country over the years, too. Never TX, though. Also just realized that my pic got cropped, turned out funny... better re-do.
