The next random top 10 from the current book list.

All books are linked to Amazon for reading reviews, feedback, ratings, etc, to assist with accurate selection.

The poll runs for 4 days, allowing plenty of time for people to vote upon what book/s they like most (multiple choice). This leaves 3 days for the narrowing poll to run (single vote). This will allow everyone ample time to vote, yet to build a definitive schedule of reading for prior planning.

Authenticity Of Random Choice

Oh dear, my brain hurts just researching the list. Talk about taking me out of my comfort zone - yuck, I found it really hard to pick one.

I read to escape, I don't like too much realism, shallow, possibly, but give me a Jilly Cooper or Nicolas Evans.

The one I chose, does at the moment have the most votes. My second choice, also second in the poll is at the moment out of my price range. I think this is because from what I could see it isn't released until April and then only in hard cover.

For those that are unfamiliar with Jenny Lawson (author of Let's Pretend This Never Happened), she is a hilarious satirical writer. You can check out her writings to get a feel for what her book might be like at thebloggess.com

She was my second choice but the price of the book is expensive as I think it is only in hardback and released in April.

Phew, a rather heavy list of reading!

I thought the same. My answer and I'd love it if you did the same is to trawl Waterstones bestseller list and submit a long list of books I'd like to read.

It is up to us to submit plenty, if we don't we will be stuck with heavy reading. Heads up people, I promise no Barbara Cartland or Mills and Boon from me:D

"Zen and the Art..." was my recommendation. I found it funny, fun, and philosophical. But it isn't exactly a new release, now, is it? And at 2 votes, I think I'll be re-reading it alone.

I voted on: Anatomy of an Epidemic, Freakonomics, Let's Pretend This Never Happened and Breakfast of Champions.

They were my choices... but it looks like we have a clear winner at present, with Mao's Last Dancer holding 50%.

End of the day, it's about us all experiencing new things to read... getting out of our comfort zone. I would never have read Mao's Last Dancer, but if it comes up, I will read it just to do something different.
