People can volunteer for studies: Clinicaltrials.gov in the US lists studies from all over the world. Type in PTSD and the randomized controlled trials, observational trials, etc are listed and described. No one has to pay a fee for participating in funded studies - in fact you frequently get reimbursed as well as meals, lodging, and medical tests required to participate.

The people who decide if studies whould be funded (the reviwers) are both government and independent experts. My psychiatrist is an independent reviewer who is board certified in neurology and psychiatry. He takes his review work very seriously and looks at the science behind the proposed studies. He also suggests other scientists' studies for his patients if he thinks they will benefit.

Anyone who would charge you for an unproven therapy but call it science, proven-by-testimony, isn't being ethical. If they tell you it is experimental and you want to pay the fee to see how it goes, then you give your informed consent.

You probably still won't see study results for another 6 - 12 months... whilst the data is accumulated, checked, then an actual study document written, edited and published. That is... if they decide to publish it IF the study proved what they wanted it to.

As I've said before, the majority of studies are tainted before they begin, as the examiners are looking for an outcome before they begin, and instead of allowing that outcome to evolve or not, they try to taint the study to give that outcome. When they don't get the outcome they want, most don't bother publishing the results. If they get it, or close to it, then they will likely publish the results.

Most studies never see the light of day beyond a researchers bottom draw of failed efforts, which in themselves are valid data to counter positive studies... yet researchers often don't see it that way when they aimed for x and got y.

Negative studies are hard to get published. Journals simply want results - and when the answer to a study is no, then no journal wants to publish it. I worked in academic medicine for a decade before I gave up - I had IRB approved studies. But it is difficult to get published without sponsors - and my research didn't require sponsors, because I was using methods already available.

It isn't necessarily the person doing the study who wants to see a certain result - more often, it is the reviewers, and industry. There isn't any money in a negative result.

I looked it up and it showed the studies were completed. ?
Some of the studies have been completed, it's true. But there will be others come up. If you just put PTSD in the search bar you can look at a multitude of studies in the works.

Thanks Girl3,
I'll try that again. I did the other day but they weren't running any so maybe that's what I did run - run just SGB Trials.

I have not seen an post of this forum, Is it still active. I am going to have the proceed at Dr. Lipov tomorrow.

How are the others doing? Do they still feel the results, or have they needed to go in for a booster shot. If so, does the booster cost less.

I am giving this a try, figure I have nothing to lose. If this forum is active would love to hear status from those who have have had the procedure..

THANKS all, this forum has been very valuable.
