I didn't vote because I'm not sure if they apply. I sleep outside in an old U-Haul truck in the drive way. Only one door is to the outside. Strangly it's the place I feel safest sleeping.

Rain shine, wind whatever. It got down into the low 20'sF in winter, and in the summer it will get into the 100's inside in the late morning making sure I wake up.

I have to sleep with all the doors opened (including the closet door) and the shade open. If I close the shade at all. I usually have a hard time going and staying asleep. Also, if anything is moved around in the room, I can't go to sleep.

I sleep most of the time with the door closed to the bedroom or living room (if I am sleeping on the couch). If the door is open it is only slightly. I have the hall light on all the time until I know for sure no one is awake and going to come in to the room and scare me.

As many doors open as possible. I don't have any blinds or shades on any windows (we live on a hilltop screened by woods from nearest neighbors). As soon as possible the windows are all open. When we have to start running the AC I go sleep on the porch. I hate not hearing what is around me when I sleep. I need complete darkness inside, so I can see the outside. The outside is not connected with my trauma, it is my safe place, my "real" place.

Lights off, blinds shut, bedroom door open. Need to be able to move and check on things quietly if there's a noise I don't recognize. Noises are the big issue, which makes sleeping in new places extremely difficult. If there's anything I don't recognize (say if I'm sleeping at a friends' and their furnace kicks on or someone turns on the water in another apartment) I'm pretty much immediately up and panicked until I figure out what the damn noise is.

I really need to get a white noise machine...:/

I have found that ear plugs help my "micro-wakes" (waking up for just a few seconds and going back to sleep). I also have to sleep with blinds closed and my door open.
