Book Club Chit Chat Thread

I am figuring that 12 books a year is pretty easy going on most budgets, especially if the book is only $10 or so per month. I read more than that per month, but they are then my choices.

Think it's a good idea to have one book per month, starting first of every month. Easy to remember, like paying the rent or something.

I got caught up in school, therapy and illness. And then started reading Pride and Prejudice again...wrong book. :cautious:

Back now.

Naughty books... had some spare $$$ at amazon, so I just ordered two more that I want to read:
  • Dead Link Removed
  • Dead Link Removed
Checked my book depository order, all three following books from The Alchemist have been shipped an on their way to me... whoo hoo. Just not sure how long that will take, as even ordering via the US store, it comes through the UK store. Hopefully not too long.

I will wait for my next salary and will then order the ones following Maos Last Dancer. I'm still waiting for the Stig Laarsen set to arrive.

The first book of Stieg Larsson is very good, but has heavy sexual and other violence especially against women.Just saying...without giving the plot away. Sexual violence might be triggering to some people, I know it triggered me.

There is a sexual one that is going wild and just been released. A trilogy all released at once, and obtaining top rankings by readers.

Fifty Shades of Grey

When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time. Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

The second book is Fifty Shades Darker and the last Fifty Shades Freed. Both the second and third sound just as exciting to read as the first.

I can see this already becoming a movie based on its instant review numbers on Amazon.

Hope this is not off topic. I am thinking this thread is good for other books too.

Started reading Gray's Anatomy. Surprised at the ease of reading. Not sure how much I will understand or remember in the end. But liking it so far.

Sounds good to me. How about these after the Stig books?

Fantastic, next payday I can order the next three books after Maos Last Dancer. I've managed to find all 3 books on amazon for under £12 inc postage (second hand, but it works for me:tup:).
