Paperwhite rating.... kicks arse! The lighting is fantastic. Now I can read in bed without disturbing cranky bum beside me with the bedside light. :cautious:

I used it last night in bed... after someone went off to sleep... awesome. You turn the light right down so the screen is just lit, and it gave out no light to the room itself, as the lighting is pushed into the device, not backlit. Very impressive... no sore eyes reading in the dark either.

I downloaded the bookclub book. Wasn't impressed about that one. Paperback was $7 or so... Kindle $17. I reckon they jacked up Kindle because they knew paperback was sold out everywhere.

Is that the latest HD Kindle? I went to buy the previous one and they were out of stock.
Now I wonder if I want the IPAD or the Kindle. Is the new Kindle all they cracked it up to be?

I think I want an iPad as well. I love my Kindle as it is more compact, easy to hold in one hand.

No, they're different. This is the new Kindle family. The HD's are the Kindle Fire family.

Kindle Reader family are books, newspapers, etc... Kindle Fire family are full on HD media devices, book, music, movies, etc. They aren't really a replacement though for iPad / Samsung tablets, as both of those have a huge following of developers creating apps for them. Amazon doesn't.

I've just had the movie 'We need to talk about Kevin' delivered. I'd prefer to read the book first but I don't have control over what Lovefilm send me. H isn't bothered about watching it, so over the next few nights, I will settle down and watch it with the dogs.
