You Know You Have PTSD When...

When you think your iPhone isn't working and then you realise it's because your wearing gloves lol.

When you can hold ice and not be bothered by the cold.

When your shivering with the cold but don't think you deserve to be warm.

When you share your head with your younger self and it takes effort to have a coherent thought

When moving in with the man you love seems far too scary.

When you know you haven't done anything wrong and police officers still freak you out.

When the telephone rings and your heart sinks because it means you have to interact with a human being.

When your son and stepchildren think it's funny to sneak up on you just to show their friends your startle response.

When you find yourself lecturing your dogs on Nihilism and Jungian principles whilst walking them.

When you can't watch the Star Wars movie where Aniken gets turned into Vader cos you know the burn scenes will make you puke.

When you refuse to watch anything but camp horror movies cos you have no need to vicariously experience fear, and anyway--you've experienced worse and gotten through it.

When you know you haven't done anything wrong and police officers still freak you out.

In the middle of the winter my car died on the highway. I had to walk across several lanes and the median to get to where a car park was and use the phone(didn't have a cell phone back then). I was in my young twenties. I called the non emergency police number and said I was stuck on the highway. The responder answered back, "Is this Britt Fxxxx? I froze in panic. I wasn't sure if I should hang up or what. It was a freaky experience.

Needless to say, I've been known to be pulled over in my Soccer mom van for no apparent reason. Not driving recklessly, non expired plates, etc. Oh what fun that panic is. NOT.

When you suddenly struggle to remember the age of people you love.

I figure that is my getting older and so many to remember. I'm lucky to remember my own age! :hilarious:

I still don't know which twin is which of my brother's daughters and they are turning ten this year. They're fraternal but look very similar. I don't want to ask because I'm so ashamed.

You know you have ptsd, when you see "things" moving out of the corner of your eyes.
