Ummm, what two year wait? I was approved for Social Security Disability and got a lump sum for the months since my application date. Since then I receive a check every month, but have been told I do not qualify for medicare until I'm of an age.

So I applied for the community healthcare sliding scale and that helps as long as I go to their providers.

Hey Safenow, I am feeling eh. I woke up alright but the noise has started, Allsup hasn't contacted us, still trying to find a place, and the date for eviction per the notice for "non-payment" is today. As well as realizing that when it comes between job and us, our apartment manager friend chooses job. Which I don't hold against her, it just sucks that she is being forced to choose the owner's side. The non payment eviction notice is crap, because we made arrangements to pay. We have also kept the office and owner updated since my partner lost her job.

I am trying to be positive but the over hanging feeling of doom is making it hard. I am also trying not to get upset at my partner because she chose this place, not us. When we were first offered this place from our former office manager friend she took it and we stopped looking around (I wanted to keep looking). The former friend was a customer of hers. I remember looking at reviews of this place, and all the reviews are correct (the ones posted by tenants and not staff faking as tenants). Others have had the same issues, I should have known better.

I just wish we could get out if this stupid place.

On a positive note from lunch on saturday was a good pretty good. I made sheperd's pie for dinner on St. Patrick's eve lol, and teriyaki chicken for dinner on St. Patrick's day. We had a little of both our cultures lol, no drinking though. We don't consume alcohol, unless used in a dish/cooking. Pretty weird for people in our age range I know lol. The neighbors upstairs weren't home when it was good, but then they came back.

I wish we had more days like that again, I miss it.

How have you been? I saw some drama in your journal, figured best to let those waters calm themselves. Glad it is done with though. I hope you have been well, aside from that as I know it must have been upsetting.

Edit: Just noticed these bars and wheelchair looking things around my name/avatar. What's up with that? I am going to assume the bar is for likes/posts?

Thank you ((((Safenow)))), if you lived where I do you bet your butt we would invite you. We'd even send you home with leftovers. I always cook enough for an army, it's a good thing my girlfriend has a high metabolism and loves to eat lol. When I lived around my friends, I used to give them cooked meals all the time. Even when we moved here I used to bake the office from scratch baked goods. Everyone says I should be a cook, but I think I wouldn't enjoy it as much if I did become one. I'd lose all the "soul" in my food.

If you are on SSDI, you were given incorrect info. According to the social security website, everyone who is on SSDI is eligible for Medicare after a 24 month period.

It starts to years from your first check. I was approved back to last Feb., my benefits started in July, but I didn't get paid until Jan., so next July I will be elegible for medicare. Does it make sense? No.
