I wake up around 8 am. but can't get on with my daily routines. I take bath very late, too. Sometimes I take bath in afternoon. It has been from last year. Even if I wake up early and take bath after it, I would feel uncomfortable for whole day or would catch cold.

Am I being too hard on myself?

Sometimes I can't wake up early, I feel like I need more sleep. Like 9-10 hours. Peaceful sleep I want.

Is this because of very much stressed in my mind?
Help please, is there any way to fix this?

It is difficult to break a routine/habit because it takes extra effort of thought. It is good start that you get out of bed, however having a late bath may make you feel better it can also make you lethargic. My suggestion would be to have a shower as soon as you get up; I understand the therapeutic nature of a bath but a shower can also give the feeling of wellbeing. You may also find it helps to have a plan for each day even if things don’t pan out a planned as this gives you a sense of purpose. Too much sleep can be just as detrimental as too little so work on a routine with more structure in your day, it won’t happen overnight but if you make the effort I believe it will be worth it.

 This is my main mistake. Deep down I expect it to happen this change overnight. I have been wondering from last two years. My sleep pattern and life began to take change massively two years ago. I was very stressed that time. I wouldn't be able to get sleep either. Positive thing I can take sleep at the moment and little relaxation with it.

ok. I will make a plan. Can you give me any example? So I can understand how to make the effective plan for me. Thanks a lot you can get through it.

Just try to change your routine. I like the idea of a plan.
Ok Jen. Thank you for your suggestion and I am hoping your plan is working for you as you are also experiencing similar things like I am going through.

Having a plan can involve something special you like to do, or doing something special for another person. It does not matter which, only that whatever you chose motivates you. Write down what you are planning and make a promise to yourself. No one will judge you on how well you do each day so be bold and keep a record on how well you did. Over time you will be able to confront the things that bar you from living life to the full because you will be able to read back and learn through your good and experiences. Nothing worth having in life comes easy but the prize of overcoming your fear is priceless beyond all imagination.

I sleep very late sometimes. I can't find sleep sometimes. I find sleep around 2-3 am.

I always feel I have been starting my day very slow. So wondering is it possible if you sleep very late and don't feel energetic during day in spite of having slept for 8 hours from 2-3 am?

I have a number of sleeping issues, from being unable to get to sleep (one I get more rarely and less severely now). Sleeping too much - 18+ hours per 24 hour period for 5+ days at a time (I get this during really bad phases). The one I struggle with most is after falling asleep (10-30 minutes) I wake up between 5 and 25 times a night but usually at the higher side of that.

Something to consider however is Adrenal fatigue as it massively effects sleep patterns and activity levels during the day, amongst other things. I think I made a post about it a while back, if not google it - it may well help you.

You must try to go to sleep before midnight or you can't have a fulfilling sleep. Changing biological clock takes a few days. You can try meditation before going to sleep. There are several meditations. One meditation you can try is, after you are lying on the bed to go to sleep, start counting backwards from 100. With reverse counting, you try to remember the things you did that day. You try to remember things backwards. So, when you count 100, you remember what you did just before going to bed. When you count 99, you try to remember what you did before that. In the last, you try to remember what you did just before getting up in the morning that day. This meditation will help you sleep.

There are many articles on the internet regarding sleep hygiene, which will give you a place to start that way as well. For instance, you should go to bed and get up the same time everyday, establish a routine. If you aren't asleep after 20 minutes, get up, but don't do anything stimulating. No bright lights, no internet ( :( ), stay up for a bit until you feel sleepy again, then back to bed. Only use bed for sleeping, no TV, no internet ( :( ), things like that. Just small changes in routine that may help you sleep better, and the best thing is, no pills. Good luck, Jaret, I am the Queen of Insomnia!

Thank you Kas can fly, lovenbliss & nursenurse,
Adrenal fatigue
Can you explain me this more? I would like to understand it.
you can't have a fulfilling sleep.
This is the problem. Perfectly pin pointed now. I can't have fulfilling sleep. That is a nice meditation. Thank you so much. I will add it in before going to sleep.
Only use bed for sleeping, no TV, no internet, things like that.
Yes I have used bed for internet and reading from last many months. I will look for articles on google. Hope you solve your sleeping problem nursenurse. Good luck to you, too.

:)

Here's my earlier post on the subject: [DLMURL]https://www.ptsdforum.org/c/threads/ptsd-mental-instability-adrenal-symptoms.31769/[/DLMURL]

Here's another article about it as well: http://www.drlam.com/articles/Top_10_adrenal_fatigue_facts_made_easy.asp

Basically the hormones triggered in fight or flight responses and even under normal stress contribute to sleep issues, so if you notice that you're waking up many times a night or at the same time(s) every night it may well be Adrenal Fatigue. It might also be difficult to get out of bed in the morning and you feel that your sleep was not refreshing.

Other symptoms include, general tiredness and lack of energy, lethargy, inability to handle stress, feeling overwhelmed by minor challenges, depression, struggling to get through the day, avoiding conflict, frequent infections, slow recovery from illness' or injuries, low libido, increased cravings for both salty and sugary food, cravings for refined carbohydrates, caffeine dependance, difficult to lose weight and/or weight gain, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, intolerance to cold and hair loss.

It is very common in people with PTSD from what I have read but a lot of these symptoms can be from other things as well. So best to check it out, the rising levels of cortisol can be detected in your saliva if I remember correctly, so it should be easy enough to detect from your doctor.

Good luck.
