@Nicolette, I am with you. I have not used a chat in years but it was fun. I must learn the ignore option.

Speed, efficient; great for a light hearted conversation. I vote the ignore option be labeled WHINER. JMHO the funniest comment I saw was it was not private enough! I will do my research on member vs premium member comments of +/- bets the member were the whiners.

You get what you pay for! And I realize not everyone can, what has happened to appreciate what others afford, for those who can't.

JMHO, PTSD, trauma, are no excuse for bad manner's. Some people are born negative and choose to stay in it! Beware whiners and negative attitudes I am up for a challenge.

There is no such thing as privacy online if you participate in any website. It is a fallacy. The chat here is simple, it is member only, and if a premium member, you can prune it upon finishing your chat so the last 50 lines of your discussion are stripped, regardless of anyone else in the chat.

All chat conversations, and I do mean every single word, is automatically saved and archived on the forum for my eyes only in the event of people doing naughty things outside of forum rules, I can then review for action if reported.

Anthony, I don't see the report button like previous chat system. If something bad happens, how do we report?

This is a probably a really stupid question.

I sometimes show up in the 'members in chat' thing on the right hand side of the page. But as far as I'm aware I'm not in chat.

I popped in on Tuesday, and I'm wondering if I haven't left?

I'm not a great chat user, so apologies for my ignorance :)

It is purely a logging mechanism and stores a session on your computer, so if you've been in chat the session will pickup where it left off when you come back online. It doesn't mean anything...

Members only, will now see the new chat approach. This gives quick, easy, mobile + desktop chat access to everyone without complication.

All members can view and post within the chat. Simple, easy, nothing complicated.

I like the new chat system, and so far have found there's quite a few people using it. Good job Anthony, it is very easy to use, thank you for keeping a chat feature on here.

I also like that alerts come up when new threads are posted.

Premium Members can edit / delete their own chat messages, prune (done by typing the command /prune into the chat box) the chatbox to remove all messages (clearing their history) as well as setting the Message Of The Day (MOTD) at the top of the box as they see fit, by any premium member... just click it and wait for box to appear, then enter message. It will accept bbcode in MOTD.

Is the MOTD currently the quote of Kung Fu Panda?

To clear my own chat history I enter /prune into the chat dialogue box?

To change the MOTD I enter /MOTD and then my message? into the chat dialogue box?

I think I'm wrong, or I'd just try it out and see... thanks for clarifying. I skimmed the whole thread, and hope I didn't miss these clarifications already.

Double click the current message, the popup will appear, then change it.

Pruning works great! I have done everything trying to MOTD, obviously been clicking the wrong box. Thanks for the clear direction.
