Weed Substitutes

I know 'fake weed' is definitely not so great for you and can cause horrible side effects, but in states where medical marijuana is illegal, had anyone tried 'incense' or anything similar that seemed to work?

I've smoked incense several times and have a similar reaction as I do to marijuana, but I know it's far worse for me.

Only time I tried it I blacked out and fell down some steep curved stairs. My head left a dent in the wall. I went back to regular after that. Still it gave my mates a laugh, carpet burns on your forehead and nose are pretty funny ;) im in the uk, its illegal but I didnt have much choice, I needed it. Buy small. X

@InsideAWord I'm definitely not looking to trying incense again, just wondering if there was any close, healthier alternative. Unfortunately I'm in one of the most conservative states and hope to be doing much better by the time it is legal.

@Springer80 "buy small" lol. Good idea!

I'm not looking to do drugs for fun over here (as I know this is very controversial) just wanting some relief.

Thanks for the input:))

Are you adverse to medication?
No I'm not, I've been trying different medications for the last year, unfortunately I'm one of those people that gets most side effects. So I like to just consider everything.

I'm not looking to be high everyday, that doesn't work for me, I'd much rather take/smoke nothing at all. This just came up in another thread I had posted and I was wondering about alternatives. As I currently take Xanax and Klonopin at the highest doses and they are losing effectiveness, I'm looking to take a break on those. (The medication substitutes I've tried this far have caused too many sickly side effects.)

@InsideAWord at first I thought you meant 'buy small air', just wanted to let you know you made me laugh:)

If you're on high doses of klonopin and Xanax I'm afraid you may be in for nasty withdrawals. Your doctor should be smacked for putting you on two benzodiazepines and pushing your dose so high. They're meant to be short term meds.

Ditto what @Solara said re: withdrawal.

Do it under supervision and it won't be so bad. I was on highest dosage too. Doctors usually advise .25 mg Klonopin less every day for two weeks. Then take it down another .25 and so on. But do it with a doctor. They might advise .125 less a day for two weeks, or something else I haven't heard of. It's dangerous to go cold turkey and it feels awful. Switching to weed won't necessarily help unless you are dosing down right.

Spend your time, effort and money in therapy. Any drugs will only give you short term relief. They won't give you any long term solutions. You already take ridiculously high doses of benzo's, which will be hard enough to stop. Trying to find more drugs will only lead to more problems.

Honestly it's time to deal with your issues rather than trying to find a quick fix to your symptoms. The symptoms will not go away on their own, you have to deal with the underlying issues - and that means therapy.
