Here's a bit of a strange custom from the north of England. It's called 'gurning' and it basically involves putting a horse bridle round your neck and pulling the ugliest face you can. People without any of their own teeth have a distinct advantage, which is fortunate because it would seem quite a lot of the contestants don't. It's ben running since 1269 apparently. There isn't a lot to do in them there hills.

Well you do follow around anyone who shouts loud enough, right?? And you need some kind of authority figure to boss you around because otherwise you wouldn't know what to do, of course. :p

With our current "leading figure", it's kind of hard...to imagine to follow the "smile of Germany" (Merkel). :eek: I only follow around when music bands on stage shout loud enough. :singing:
