Donation Goal Increase. Why?

In a single day, there are on average 5000 unique users of the site. Over a month, there are over 3000 unique members who visit. This is why the statement is made, if every member in only one month period donated $1, that would cover the server costs for an entire year, instead of people just leaving it and thinking someone else will donate, or leaving it to a generous handful to donate.

Nicolette and I contribute $50 per month to the server costs, let alone additional costs for the site. Our costs are more like $150+ per month in the scheme of costs... so we do our part. It is a single aspect that has annoyed me since the sites inception that every person will buy smokes, alcohol, entertainment, therapy, the list goes on, yet can't come up with $1 to do their sole part for the overall benefit of one years full costs being raised in the short term of a single month. It just baffles me that a majority of people are so ignorant to think this site will just continue to be here for them... and some even complain about ads and such as though they're entitled to a free support mechanism without them.

I donated a dollar. I would give more if I could. This site is amazing. I used to give a hell of a lot of time as a moderator, and to be honest, morally, I don't feel like I need to give any more. However, this place has been a life line to me, and even though I'm pretty much skint, giving $1, isn't going to break me (I need hundreds of dollars right now, not just $1!), but if it keeps this place going, it will help many people, including me. And that is what is important.

$1 that's 65 pence to you UKer's. Seriously, can you not afford that amount once a year to keep this place you all use, up and running?

When I donated my dollar, I thought perhaps, I should do so anonymously, because it felt a little bit embarrassing to donate so little. But then I thought, why the hell should I be embarrassed? I'm still doing my bit, and would like to encourage everyone to do their bit too.

It's been clearly spelt out how easy it is to keep the site up and running, $1 from each of you is all it takes. Think about it. How relieved were you to find this site? How did it feel to find other people, who were struggling in the same way as you? How much valuable, and potentially life saving information have you found here? Surely that's worth $1 of your money?

Can alerts be given to the active members as to the 'tracking' of the goal set -or- a perhaps an display in the chat room?

Awareness in one (albeit) prominent location has not been found to be as effective in connecting those possible donors to the urgency of a solid need/cause or charity. Unabashed nudging might be viewed as a necessary kindness really, considering the fact many of us may escalate within our PTSD without the accommodations this board affords. I mean if we thought we were triggered before...:clown::eek:Having no PTSD.com may ring an needed wake up call to some and hopefully shouldering success of the site could increase gratitude and self esteem. So more varied awareness may assist briefly.

As well a reward system (example such as a bi-yearly or yearly raffle for a special membership award/ membership banner) with an ticket for each set domination of currency per month being displayed may increase heightened interest and heighten recognition among us. There are few rich here, so prioritizing to giving is a most beautiful action.

As I have donated a constant but humble fair share (but now unemployed), please know this marketing offer is not self motivate but offered ...to be trashed or explored in love of this site.:notworthy: Peace out.
