New Here
Hello
I'm new to this forum. I've had PTSD for over 40 years. I've been through every type of therapy and taken many different types of medication. I keep having relapses and I'm tired and worn out and don't know what to do. I joined forum to find out how others deal with PTSD. I'm discouraged after so many years and tired. Not sure what else to say.

Hi Deacon, welcome (again!) to the forum. I hope you find this to be a useful resource.

Managing symptoms is an ongoing practice, unfortunately. I think we all know too well what it's like to improve and then seemingly go back to square one. Sorry you're here, but glad to have you aboard.

Thank you, I've gone through many episodes and experienced in dealing with them but with each one I feel as if I've made no progress over the years. I will take a look around.

Hi Deacon and welcome to the forum , you probably feel like you haven't made progress but what do your friends and family think? It's very easy to feel low about Ptsd and feeling you are not getting anywhere, but I bet you have tried so hard in your therapy sessions, that's progress in itself that you was able to talk about your traumas. When one is feeling low it's quite normal to feel that you are tired of it all , these are unfortunately part if the healing process , ups and downs, happy Nd sad, motivated and disheartened . Please don't be hard on yourself , I bet your journey has been a real struggle that you have fought endlessly with , so we'll done for that, and not giving up . Be proud of where you were and where you are today , I bet that's miles apart, I know I am and tet at times I feel so low but that's human nature surely . And why can't we feel low after what we've suffered? But then I think of how hard I've tried to get to where I am today and I feel positive about my progress X so chin up and be proud X

@Deacon, sorry you are feeling low right now. PTSD is kind of like a YO YO. Up then down, up then down. I hope you find some tools here to help you manage the symptoms so you can have more ups than downs. Whatever you do, keep fighting. Please don't give up, never give up. You are worth it! ! :) :hug:

@Deacon Welcome to the forum!

It is understandable to be disappointed and tired of PTSD relapses; unfortunately, sometimes that is just how PTSD affects some people. I think you will find there are many members here engaged in the same struggle. That is what makes this site so amazing is that people really do understand and the sharing of support and ideas makes it easier to get back on our feet.
