Excellent practical thinking and advice. Thank you so much. I will do some practice tonight. If I struggle to achieve it, I will get a guy to help me learn the technique.
Do you like Odansetron or are you being sarcastic about it being lovely stuff?
Can you tell me about how /when/how often...

is said to block the signals between the brain and the stomach through the Vagus nerve. It can be used for motion sickness and also for anxiety.
Apparently, if it is unsuccessful in reducing nausea from anxiety after 30 days they will refund...
I have always had nausea when distressed but it has become worse recently.
I will speak to my doctor about it today and spoke to my pharmacist recently.
I asked about an anti-nausea drug called Odansetron. She said that is a reasonable way to go or my doctor might suggest I put my...
Sideways, may I ask what dosage is your small baseline dose? I have been on Pristiq since I developed PTSD 15 years ago, after years of depression and anxiety. ( I see my other posts on Pristiq say 8 years. I dont have the brain space to work out ho long its been. You understand.)
My baseline...
I have had Fibromyalgia for over 12 years. Initially I would have to crawl up the stairs on my hands and knees. The pain felt like shards of glass in my muscles.
Since starting on PRISTIQ (Desvenlafaxine), which is slow release, 8 years ago, the pain went away.
I take 100mg AM. Two 50mg...
If it is challenging try writing "key words" . The important words only. To trigger your memory. If it is too challenging to write when you think of it keep a pen down your bra (assuming you are a girl) and write a thought on your arm to transfer to your scrapbook later. I also keep a piece of...
The stomach problems are there for me too, not every day though. I think it could be that the motility of the gut in improved. I carry antacids with me or Diet Coke and once I burp my stomach settles. This did go away last time I was on it for a length of time, so it may again.
Having a scrapbook gives me a sense of control because it means to me that I am gathering my own form of 'treatment". It is also a valuable resource to take along to a doctor for reference and it frees your brainspace up and stops you worrying about forgetting. Try it.
@Chimera Maybe keep a scrapbook of snippets you feel fit with you. For future reference.
Buproprion is used as a Dopamine enhancer. Dopamine works on motivation. Did you ever see the movie Awakenings? It was a true story about a doctor called Dr Oliver Sacks who used a Dopamine replacement...
HI @TXbandit Yes, I am still on it. I have stablised again at 150mg AM and 100mg AM of Pristiq. This appears to be the perfect dose for me. I am sensitive to meds and seem to only ever need low doses. I started with nausea early on and it has changed the motility of my lower intestine but in a...
I have not dreamed in my adult life. Now in my sixties. ( I know they say we do not remember them).
I started dreaming when I went onto Buproprion (zyban) I am taking it for depression not for stopping smoking. It works well to motivate me. It also works on motivation, cutting carb cravings and...
A person who displays the traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder on the extreme end of the spectrum is what is offically labeled a Psychopath.
This is recognised world-wide and is very different from the psychological trauma/damage that is evident in a lot of people including us with PTS...
He may well have Narcissistic Personality Disorder as well. There are many great forums and Youtube videos that you can educate yourself on these personality disorders and learn how to recognise them early. Eventually, you will see that recognition of this is the time to run like hell.
Try...
Thank you for telling your story Mr Laurie. Extreme caution is exercised when taking any medication and I self-monitor and take observational notes just like an old nurse, to refer back to and share with my MD. Its helps with being cautious and also helps with a crappy memory.
I think I am better to break the dose up again into approx. 9AM with food + approx. 3PM. I will adjust the times and record how I feel with the jitteryness. This is the same time I used to feel the itchy face when I first started it.
When I cut my Slow Release pills I dip the cut edge in...
@joeylittle I have got my levels back up and am a bit jittery in the afternoons. I know I have to start walking again to get all my serotonin etc. back up. I don't know when is the best time to exercise. Morning or afternoon. I am taking 150mg Zyban AM. Plus 100mg Pristiq.
Have you noticed...
Wellbutrin works very well for me. I cant get that brand name, as I am in Aus. so I get Zyban. It is very motivating without any symptoms of an "upper". It works on Dopamine. There is another thread where I have posted exactly how I began to take it and any side effects there were initially...
@Chava
If you have not had it done, you can ask your doc to test you for Fibromyalgia. There are pressure points on the body that if pressed equate the diagnosis. Fibro is said to be cause unknown, but my experience is that it is directly tied to psychological stress. Most docs agree with that...
@Chava said "System overload. But I didn't get wasted or end up in ER, so I guess that's one good thing."
It's not just one good thing. It's a f###ing HUGE thing. HUGE. Write it up on your wall in chalk, girl and smile every time you look at it. Celebrate it. You did a huge thing. It must be...
@Nicolette
May I suggest you get some Valium into him prophylactically for the next two days....so his brain can have a rest. If you put it to him like that, he may comply. If he is reactive, you could just put one down beside him , tell him his brains needs some rest and walk away. At the...
@Medic72
Oh dear. The only thing I can offer right now for you is what helped me so much when my son died. I went to a site called The Compassionate Friends and read and read and emailed when the pain was too great and I had to get it out. Eventually I found others who had similar...
@Nicolette The one thing I have learned just recently is how the "I want to be dead" thought that comes is directly connected to "shame". I learned this after hearing about South Pacific Private in Sydney where they do a 3 week course on "Development Issues" which they believe is behind all...
@Hush92
I did it all online. Five years ago. I live in Queensland and I was told by a friend about a life coach in Perth. I love to write so I asked if we could do it through email.
It started off by me doing a course that went for 6 weeks. That brought me back to who I was, reminded me who I...
To be honest, I have found studying this forum, writing out the trauma, studying library books and 12 months of Life Coaching did more for my wellbeing than seeing a therapist. I have seen six different ones and found it frustrating, expensive and it did not help me move forward or teach me how...
PS If you get in the shower to let the anger out of your throat, wash your hair and scrub all over after. I promise it will feel like a ritual by the time you get out. Besides all this the extreme screaming postures are great for your face muscles. :)
