-Been looking around and have spent some time on the combat forum. Now decided to join here and see more information on ptsd.
-It has been 20 years since my deployment to the Gulf War and I continue to have nightmares, sweats, hot-flashes, etc. VA diagnosed with ptsd in 1999 when I ETS'd. Continue counseling and medication with VA since.
Veteran of the Gulf War who deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division. Originally a Spanish interpreter, I was sent to the Middle East as a speed bump and learned Arabic OJT. Deployed with the scouts, engaged and intercepted enemy. Towards the end of deployment I interrogated Iraqi EPWs.
Later served 2 years in Panama, after the invasion, as the US began its withdrawn from the country.
In all, spent 10 years with US Army
Great to meet others with similar stories!
